I'd be surprised if we sold him but absolutely shocked if he went to Hamburg, he is far too good for them now. I think the reason he hasn't ruled them out this summer when it keeps coming up is because he doesn't want be uncomplimentary to his old club.

Getting rid of 3 class players in one window (Led,VDV,Mod) is going to hurt. We will see how successful it is at the end of the season.

It sounds to me like we don't want to let his contract run down. He has only got 2 years left if I remember correctly.

Horrible to say as well but I recall Madrid sponsoring wages al la adebayor.... Nee contract will probably mean taking the whole salary????

FFS. I wasn't going to believe the VDV rumours but him going will really be a kick in the fucking balls. Sig is an improvement on someone like Kranjcar, but is nowhere near VDV's level yet. We're going to struggle to replace Modric as it is. If we let VDV go as well my confidence for this season will go down the plughole.
