I wonder if this is Steve Hitchen working his magic. Hercules was singing his praises a few days ago.

Does anyone know why according to ITK we've practically signed Gazziniga, and to a lesser extent Foyth, and yet neither is announced. We've 'signed' Gazziniga ages ago. We had a few suggest it was so he wasn't the first signing but now we've signed Sanchez does he have to be the last? What's levy telling him..."look we will sign you, but like....only once we sign enough other players no one realises we signed you, you're a bit embarrassing..."

Sounds similar to GKN last year who was training with the club but wasn't announced til like 2 days before window closed

1 of the best unveilings by the club though :)

Hertyid about Jason Sancho:

1) Sancho is still a kid, not first team
2) we tried to get him in the walker deal, city refused point blank, if we've secured him that's a real coup

(Not 100% sure this is ITK, but it's good info regardless)

Looking back through the ITK, Gards first mentioned Sancho on 4th/5th August, so was obviously something we were looking at. I was looking for the comment about how we were now shaping up as the destination of choice for young players, wonder how much pull that would have on Sancho and Sessegnon. Also, if one highly rated player sees another coming to Spurs, do they feel compelled to follow suit, be part of what's being built.
Looking at the ITK that is lining up, out targets are predominantly quite young, yet undeniably talented. No marquee signings so to speak, but finally getting our scouting pointed in the right direction, picking off these players a season or so before their careers explode out of our reach. Fantastic to see, and easy to see why Hitchen, assuming he's obviously behind it, is gaining such praise. The Dortmunds and Atletico's, and Monaco's have been able to compete with the historic powerhouses by getting talented ambitious managers in, and providing them with the calibre of players required through smart scouting rather than outright throwing cash at the finished article. Hopefully we've finally cracked the same model.

Hercules said he wasn't coming to play in the u23s, if he signs. Also as well as being homesick was he not wanting to leave City because of lack of first team opportunities?
I would have thought he would be on our bench at least some of the time.

Loads of itk sounding really promising now and all from the tops boys too. We've got to get a move on now if we are to get em done in time. Just hope with all this promise if we don't get them all over the line we don't have a meltdown. Seems like I'm constantly f5'ing and checking the site that cannot be named in hoping to see things happening. If levy is in France it would tie in with aurier stuff coming out in the media. Now let's hope for some attackers and more importantly pacey ones.

Poch has repeatedly said he buys players train, opportunities to play come from there. Stories in the Nkoudou thread he could be off to Italy on loan, maybe Sancho is being told that if he joins us, the path to the first team is clearly there, you've just got to have the talent and allocation to walk down it. Talent is clearly there, application is on him. Alli wasn't expected to join and have the short term impact that he did, so the evidence is there we are open to picking on form not reputation.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

This transfer window has really brought home how far behind the tabloids are getting with info. on transfers. Ten or twenty years ago they were the first to break big stories but now they are almost inconsequential as they are well behind with what is going on with transfers.

It was not confirmed by ITK that Levy was in France for Aurier was it?
No.

Just thinking about these young players coming in, if they do, they are going to be Pochottino's boys which leads me to believe two things:-
1, Poch is going to be here for the long term
2, In just a few years we are going to have an even better side than we have got now.
A combination fit for our spanking new stadium.:)
