Conflicting ITK from Goat and JJ/Herc (I believe the latter).

Poch is ambitious and talks about winning titles, namely PL & CL. It's extremely unlikely but there is a chance that he could win the latter. A winnable last 16 tie with Dortmund and get through, then we have a chance. Worst clubs have won it before (Scouse, Chelski).

To have a chance, then we need reinforcements and surely Poch sees this? He wanted Grealish in the summer but there are 1000's of players better than him and he doesn't want any?

I'm bloody confused and it doesn't add up.

He's saying, improve the squad with a significant signing. If it's another squad filler I'm good, I'll use the squad I have to the max then.

I get where he's coming from really.

I get what your saying, Its JJ's statement, Poch is blocking. If i read between the lines of what you said, I take it that all he is being offered is dross!

Poch has been over this ad infinitum in interviews regarding believing in the project, his thoughts on signing players, operating in a completely different way etc etc...it's out there all over the t'interweb, so why JJ's latest comes as any surprise is beyond me....

The way I see it, is that he IS a genius, or he's off.

I can't see much middle ground here.

If he's genuinely happy, which JJ alludes to, then great! I'll back the man all the way. It's not like he's gotten much wrong and his record kinda speaks for itself.

If he's putting the blockers on transfers (admittedly it might be to thin the squad and prevent N'purchases, then fine) because he would see it as being disloyal, and needlessly costing the club millions if he potentially has his mind on another managerial role, then Jesus wept.

Although.... maybe, just maybe there's an option three....

He is thinking very long term with this club. Maybe he believes that there are some absolute prospects in our academy that are nearly ready to be used. Maybe he knows that he needs to shift players to create some squad space for some plan he has. Maybe he has a plan that none of us have thought about. Maybe he's activated beast mode and will absolutely astound us with his magnificence in the next season or two. Maybe he believes that using youth and promting from the academy will mean he has a very hungry team that are all completely indoctrinated with his philosophy, ethos and style.

All I do know is that this is absolutely fascinating stuff.

And lastly, if he's happy, then we should be. He's earnt that, and more, from us. Let's have some patience and see what transpires before we shit-can Levy, ENIC, Mace, Tyco, Poch, Chirpy for finding ourselves in this situation. Because clearly we know fuck all.

Old baldy and Poch haven't got a lot wrong in the last 4-5 years, and we ain't down for the count yet.

Let's see....

I hate that this makes sense to me. Delete please.

This isn't my own opinion but I can see the perspective of seeing the ITK as information from the club which shifts the issues we've had more onto Poch which could possibly change peoples opinion on him to make it more palatable should he leave for United.

I don't see it that way myself, I'm just considering the possibility of other peoples perspectives.
No chance.

Herc openly spoke against Levy as the summer wore on. There is no reason for him to now spout a pro Levy rhetoric. I believe that he is just stating what he sees as fact.

I don't think JJ would even bring it up unless he was surprised at the players Poch is saying no to.

to be fair to poch. we dont know whos been made available to him, we are being linked with the likes of andy carroll, hardly inspiring. so ofc he would rather stick to what we have, it would be very interesting to know which 'good' targets have been made available to him

Can I just confirm, we're now suggesting that Poch would hate to be disloyal to Spurs so would rather not sign anyone because he could well be off in the summer, but it wouldn't be disloyal to us when he turns and tells everyone he is leaving because Money and a bigger football club?

....

Ding ding ding I think I need to get off this train, I'd rather walk the rest of way.

A friend of mine is a scout and he watches all the U23's and he says Spurs have nothing better than average including skipp.

90% of the people said this about Kane before he broke through, not saying they’re all gunna be world class but People can be wrong

Oh it's great, and I like it, but surely there comes a point where you have to act in the market, and for me now is that time! Crazy thing is the areas we need to fill short term now are key long term areas of improvement too.

This sounds like Utd paying Poch to sabotage us. Poch out! I’m kidding...

Listen Poch has DL by his little bollocks. He’s obviously given DL his list of players and it seems we’re unable to attain those players.

Poch has been offered alternatives to which he’s stating he’d rather not sign as he’s happy with the squad. I’m sure he’s not but he’s being stubborn and showing DL that he needs to sign the players he has asked for and not a player that’s 5th option.

Now who looks the bad one from all this? 99% of fans will say DL is not backing Poch with the players he wants. It’s a win win for Poch. Either DL coughs up and brings in players Poch likes or come summer Poch says Utd are calling and you’re not doing enough to keep me.

Either way I’m still blaming DL lol

I would imagine that his stubbornness is based on several transfer windows of not getting what he wants.

When Poch said last season we have to do things a different way, many people interpreted that as meaning we have to spend.

I said that I have worked with coaches at spurs who look dimly on fans view that we must spend spend spend. That is an overrated part of the game.

I argued Poch was more likely saying that having less money means we cannot afford to play the same spending game as others and that he would turn to youth and hold out for the right players to improve the team - increasingly difficult.

I have been thoroughly vindicated by the latest itk. No doubt some people will continue to push the same negative lines to breaking point and absolve Poch of any blame. I wonder who will take the hit ?
Except he doesn’t turn to youth. I think many on here would be excited if he did trust youth like playing Sterling but instead he picks Llorente or picking KWP instead of the woefully out of form Trippier.
