Not ITK related, but lots of rumours going round this morning that Mourinho is considering selling Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

I must admit I'd be very surprised if that was the case, but if it was, that's a player I think we should go all out (within reason, obviously!) to get.

Still only 18, a ridiculous athlete in every way, good technique, two footed and genuinely capable of playing in multiple positions

I think this kid's a star of the future
Almost as good as "no offence, but" and the going on to say something really offensive :ROFLMAO:

I really am lucky there isn't a very steep cliff at the bottom of my garden.

As per stoofs post below, pretty sure random facts about the abode within which you reside could go in general chat. Double standards I say!

:cautious:;):sneaky:

If it's not about Spurs and is more, say, about FOOTBALL in GENERAL then I guess you're stuffed.

I mean there's not a whole dedicated sub-forum to GENERAL matters of FOOTBALL on here.

Yes, before you ask, the sarcasm was necessary.

Update -ish

Various avenues being explored in order to cover all possible eventualities. Nothing has changed regards incomings as yet though, and it's the same as I have been told previous, unless there are significant outgoings there will be only one more coming in(gkn).

So my reading is, as it stands GKN is the only incoming. However should we sell Chadli, Mason, Carroll and maybe even Bentaleb, there'll be room then for maybe one more incoming. All about the squad space and balance. Don't want a bloated squad, have to move some out to create space for incoming.

if the player(s) brought in are dependent on outgoings then are they assumed to be a significant upgrade? surely if they were they wouldn't be dependent on dead weight?

But the money needs to come from somewhere, we need to free up the outgoing plays wages and sale value. That can then be augmented by tv/finishing position/Cl funds as required.
The worst case scenario is that we bring in targets but the players deemed surplus to requirements stick around too

We've had absolutely no ITK on Erikssen leaving so that's a non-started in here and we have never allowed people to start asking ITK questions.

So for the 11,894th time, if an ITK has info, they post it and we're grateful for what they post as much as we wish they'd gone into every possible detail so as to satisfy curiosity.

Seems logical, I mean we really need to sell some players, our squad looks bloated a bit and with Edwards, Winks, CCV, Onomah and Walker-Peters we have some amazingly talented kids to cover.

Janssen, Waynama and GKN for good prices and a couple of sales and loans is good business. Very good when you consider it has been done so quickly and not like typically with us last minute. Going into a season without any obvious holes is very un-Spurs like.

Course we'd all love an X factor signing but not to concerned either way.

Completely agree.
Trix Info is logical.
I do hope we can trim the squad and make room for an X factor signing though. I just think we need that magic spark player in the final 3rd to open up stubborn teams. I would also bring in a Dembele L-F-L if we sold the 3 CMs that have been made available.
Winks and Co will play if they are good enough regardless.

5 in seems a lot, but we are a team fighting in the CL and the core of the squad is staying the same anyway. It looks rather tasty when you list a match day squad with the above in mind.

If when you say "X factor player" you mean proven top class marquee superstar, then get set for disappointment, I would suggest you look at the type of players we have brought in in the last couple of years and set your expectations accordingly.

If there is anyone else at all, which at the moment is very doubtful

Not a top class superstar, more a player with the talent to unlock a defense and showing real potential.
Think Hazard prior to Chelsea, Mahrez prior to Leicester.
Someone who could push for 1st 11 now and has the capacity to keep getting better.

So...players like Janssen and N'koudou?

I wonder if Winks becomes that player? He ouzes class in that department.

I think he is class and we are handling his development very well. Certainly jumped ahead of Carroll and Co for me.
Bit off topic, but perhaps his performances will affect our transfer incomings

Quietly confident on that.

Janssen is more proven so aligned to him yes. I probably articulated my opinion badly above. X factor i meant in respect to playing style i.e hazard, mahrez impact. That ability to change a game.

I think we'd all like this but I don't think there's anyone out there tbh.

Every attacking player should have the ability to change the game. Otherwise they need to play elsewhere or find another profession.
Mahrez was unknown before he got his chance in the prem. Hazard cost £32m (in todays values that will be over £50m). We don't have the ability to pay those sort of prices so we have to go the mahrez route and buy lesser known players that we hope will turn out great. Which is what we are doing.
