Is it what 16 / 17 days left of the window?

I can't believe the summer and season we are moving into a brand spanking new stadium and the club haven't made a marquee signing....

In May we were supposedly spending £150 million this window and its now nearly August and the only deal which seems close is Grealish for circa 20 mill + add ons.

Now I know a lot can still happen in the next two weeks, but I really can't see us making the major statement signing this window and that's really disappointing. I can take the disappointment on the chin as a fan, even if we fail to address the weaknesses in the squad, but what I'm really worried about is the lack of ambitions it signifies to the squad and to Poch.

You can't tell me Poch isn't having glances over at how Liverpoo are addressing their weaknesses and be a little miffed. Even keeping Dembele and not signing a top new CM isn't really acceptable as Dembele clearly struggled last season and due to his age will very likely decine further and struggle even more this season.

And we as know from Rose last summer, players do take notice about incoming or lack of them and the subsequent ambition shown or lack of it.

Fingers crossed Levy pulls it out of the bag in the next two weeks. I'm not worried about Poch keeping us competitive for top 4, but I'm worried about him getting fed up over our clear inability to sign established stars which is what he needs to take us to the next level.

Hope someone can catch me up a bit here - have we had any actual solid ITK on Kovacic, or is it just paper talk and wishful thinking?

Aurier and nkoudou were hardly last minute panic buys. There was word that nkoudou was laid up in a hotel in London waiting for this happen for the best part of a month. Aurier we were clearly waiting on resolution of his legal situation. Moura was supposed to be included in the aurier deal in the summer window but for whatever reason it didn't happen then. I'd say we were waiting till the last day for sissoko hoping the price would go down but that didn't exactly happen.

Llorente I would say was a last minute pick up.

I think the only mistake we have made this window is believing we could get Martial. Other than that I'm sure we will sign playeras we have thoroughly scouted and believe fit the unit. It's hard to improve this squad and we all want top players. Fact is we are performing in an elite manner but we aren't quite at the top table yet. Let's hope we push on now the stadium is operational.

Whoever scouted Aurier should be dismissed

A certain player wants to stay. Very obvious who it is.
You know Herc you've now started a guessing game of every player for Spurs and every player Spurs are linked too. Nothing is ever obvious to this crowd.

Not sure how I’d react to this. Davi was one of my highlights of the season seeing him grow and how he performed at the World Cup, England game especially. Toby looks either mentally or physically scared from his hamstring tear. I don’t feel like Davies and Trippier are good enough in the Poch system to play as wing backs which rules out the 5 at the back. He or Davi then become rather high value assets sitting on the bench

If it’s Toby then kiss and make up, give him a new contract and ditch the clause. What’s the alternative? Sell a world class centre back but be held to ransom due to his low release clause next season, and if we even do manage to sell him finding a decent replacement is looking like a complete no go. Ajax won’t budge on de Ligt, Pavard’s likely off to Bayern, and Harry Maguire lol... decent WC but he’s seriously slow and Leicester will want what £50m plus? no chance.

As ITK’s have said recently, add quality in the 3 areas we’re weak and in turn keep Toby and Rose, and we’re well set for another very good season. We seriously like making things difficult for ourselves.

If Toby has the courage to apologise, to all those he may have upset, then I think he deserves a second chance. New contract no release clause.
