We've been told for a while that Toby wants to stay, yet Poch wants him gone so I don't see why that's anything new?

If it’s Toby then kiss and make up, give him a new contract and ditch the clause. What’s the alternative? Sell a world class centre back but be held to ransom due to his low release clause next season, and if we even do manage to sell him finding a decent replacement is looking like a complete no go. Ajax won’t budge on de Ligt, Pavard’s likely off to Bayern, and Harry Maguire lol... decent WC but he’s seriously slow and Leicester will want what £50m plus? no chance.

As ITK’s have said recently, add quality in the 3 areas we’re weak and in turn keep Toby and Rose, and we’re well set for another very good season. We seriously like making things difficult for ourselves.
The best solution now is for the club to forgive him and let him sign a new deal. We can retain his value and more importantly we won't lose him and won't have to scramble for a replacement this late in the window. If he stayed, we'd only need two signings maximum.

He seems committed. If he's going to perform to his best, then why not?

Poch & Toby talking. No idea how it will pan out, but he wants to...

He best sign the original offer he agreed to then without any silly clauses if he wants to show his commitment

Not sure how I’d react to this. Davi was one of my highlights of the season seeing him grow and how he performed at the World Cup, England game especially. Toby looks either mentally or physically scared from his hamstring tear. I don’t feel like Davies and Trippier are good enough in the Poch system to play as wing backs which rules out the 5 at the back. He or Davi then become rather high value assets sitting on the bench

Agree on the Davinson thing, really want him to remain a fixture and genuinely think he could be one of best in the world in 2-3 years. Wouldn't want him to end up being benched. Tricky though as we need at least 3 quality CBs.

Don't agree on Tripps though, just made team of the World Cup at RWB. Better there than RB IMHO. Davies the opposite but we do have Rose.

If Toby stays thats pretty big stuff.
Only would really need a CM .....a really top class one, hopefully not cheaping out & converting a near 23yr old championship player

The challenge might be that we expected to use Toby money on a big signing - if Toby stays, I would think that impacts the overall budget. Albeit, we don't need to buy a new CB.

Not only is Toby better than anyone we could replace him with, if he stays it would mean that we don’t have to spend the remaining weeks of the transfer window to look at Toby’s replacement. Instead we can spend more time to look at other positions so it’s really good news if he stays.

Every year we are told it will be different, every year it isn't and every year people throw their toys out of the pram. Fortunately, we have also steadily improved (Wembley was a bit of a blip) every year.

We will sign some players, some will perform well, some won't.

This year we have a brand spanking new stadium, a WC golden boot winner, a WC lifting captain, in fact, all of our players at the WC performed as the best of their nation (arguably) and we will be challenging for the big competitions again.

You never know, it could be that the best new first teamer we get this year could already be at the club and cost us nothing.

Personally, I love the ITK but I don't get emotionally involved, all the info is given in good faith but things change and others will also be going for the same players who have more $. Fortunately, we have Pochettino and players want to play for him.

What I'm trying to say is we'll be there or thereabouts again at the end of this coming season and we'll have a lovely stadium to hopefully bring one of those trophies back to

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

If Toby stays on a new contract Levy will have the biggest boner of all time with all the money he would have saved.

I am a BSODL, but this window in its current form is el terrible, hope for some good news Monday to Wednesday

It would be nice to get a forward but I don't think we are desperate. If Toby stays, then the only signing we really need to make is a midfielder. Grealish and another would be an added bonus.
