I know it's shite that we've got feck all ITK these days in comparison to the 'Arry & then Sherwood days & this part of the site is worse off for it, BUT, I'm much happier knowing Poch & Co have this watertight Team working behind the scenes & we don't get a whisper of it. The last time I recall that was when a mate texts me at 5 in the morning saying we've signed Luca Modric for 16 mil. Cloak and Dagger cards to the chest ftw. In THFC we trust
*nips off to the Guilty Pleasures thread with a packet of tissues

Indeed. Players like Son and Njie were so off the radar last year, it was really impressive.

I'm fully expecting us to sign players we aren't even linked with until the final few hours before they are announced again, rather than the obvious names being bandied about.

The signing of N'jie last year must have aged me 10 years, especially when their chairman came out with that Arsenal had come in with a last minute bid.

Makes me laugh now but back then, I couldn't get to sleep.

The Son deal was outright weird when we've been so used to all our business being out in the open. Out of seemingly nowhere, rumours were coming that he was flying to London for a medical just before lunch time, and if I'mnot mistaken, the deal was announced the very same day.

I'm pretty sure there were even a couple of sky journos denying anything happening and then a couple of hours later reporting him being a plane coming over haha. The only real deals we got to follow last year was Alderweireld and the failed Berahino saga. Shows how good the ITK's are that we even get to hear anything with Poch in charge ;)

JJ on twitter: "nah"

Was in reply to a guy asking if there is any truth in the Jonathan Calleri stories.

West Ham ITK reckon he's headed there on loan. If so, would suggest they are having to take a step down on their lofty, well publicised targets.

It seems pretty clear from ITK that Batyuashi (I will learn to spell it when we sign him) is our top striker target. Interesting to see if we make a move before or after Euros. does anyone know if any deal before would be subject to a medical. I ask because it seems a risk to sign a player who can injured playing in a major tournament for their country before they even kick a ball for their club?

According to ITK Batshuayi should be wrapped up before the Euros.

Harry and Timmy and co must have been an absolute gold mine for Itk.

I remember doing a bit of work for Sunderland in the Far East and we'd barely got our laughing gear round the first pint and Quinn and Bruce were blabbing left right and centre about transfer targets, agents, other chairman and managers, it was pwopa old skool. Shame Bruce's missus was on the trip and dragged him off for a meal otherwise it would have been quite a night I'm sure.

I far prefer the watertight ship tbh, although any snippets on here are always gratefully received.

Strangely enough, I don't recall anyone ever suggesting Xhaka as a good option for dm, let alone iitk indicating he might be a target. 6 goals in 100 apps. Plenty of others from the Bundesliga in that position but not him? Hope he's shit.

Sorry, off topic.

well if Barca, Real, Juve , Manure, Bayern etc aren't interested...Arsene's either picked up a diamond or a player the big clubs don't think is really top quality

There were lots of smokescreen CMs last summer - Imbula, Kramer, Bender, McCarthy etc - that we've actually be shown to have gone nowhere near. So I wouldn't read everything into the Batyuashi noise

Batshuayi only has 2 caps and only just made the 23 man cut.

He's very much on the fringes of the squad, so is unlikely to feature much, with Lukaku, Benteke and others ahead of him in the pecking order.

I'd hazard a guess that shit's going to be real quiet until after the Brexit vote & Euros

Following those 2 there will be much more clarity in the marketplace

ITK!

Who: Grey Fox
Where: SC
When: 25th May

A quicky while waiting for a client will try to add detail tomorrow. Wembley and first signing could be announced early next week and number of our 'fringe' players are attracting quite a few enquiries

Would I be wrong in saying we announced Toby and the new stadium plans on the same day last year? And it was glorious. Fingers crossed for some of that next week then.

On the Harry itk, I did a job with an England manager for a sponsor a few years ago and he commented to us that the English media contrasting with eu and sports media in general don't ask key questions in the press conferences, they wait until they can grab you in a corridor privately. You can see how power works
