This is the first bit of ITK from Herc that has not been overwhelmingly positive and exciting. It's not that it's negative ITK but it just sounds like things have become a bit more conservative??? Maybe that's what has everyone concerned.

The Math doesn't work if one player costs 70m,whilte the other costs 50m leaving small amount for a cm.
Also 150m isn't that exciting considering we'll be selling majority of the players bringing the net spend to minimum.

Slightly of concern we do not see Ryan Sessegnon on the list as it covers almost all the positions we look to strengthen ?

Financing for football players is weird. You buy a player their cost is spread over their whole contract (player amortisation) you sell a player the whole cost is counted in the financials even if the buying club pays you in installments.

I really wouldn't worry about the net/gross thing. The deals will be far more complicated and it will be confusing.

All we need to worry about is that hercs and trix info has us spending quite big and showing intent.

Wonder how much Alderweireld, Wanyama, Dembele, Aurier, Sissoko, Janssen, Llorente and NKoudou will add up to, 150m maybe. 20m Net spend sounds about what historically we'd expect max.

At risk of pissing off the mods and getting this deleted:

Alderweireld- 45-55m
Wanyama- 15m
Dembele - 15/20m
Aurier - lucky to get 10m for him now
Sissoko- 15m
Janssen- 10m
Llorente - 5m
NKoudou- 3m

Optimistically - 120m
Conservatively - 100m

Frankly, I don't care how much we spend, and can't understand why people are getting so hung up on the number right now, in May. I'm more concerned with the quality of players we bring in. If we assemble what we need by 'only' spending 150m then so be it. Money spent isn't an indicator of how successful the new players will be.

He’d be brought in as the successor to Kompany.

He’s an absolutely brilliant talent.
That still makes three accomplished and/or expensive defenders ahead of him...and kompany will play for them next year at least. That’s not exactly what I’d want to walk into while developing. Whereas....we have two starters and a developing youngster ahead of him and Verts getting older. Plus we play three at the back sometimes. Better opportunity here I think.

Day X - “we need to bring in players to improve the starting 11”

The next day - “we shouldn’t spend so much on 1 or 2 players”

I want to be careful how I say this. De Lgit is our main defensive priority signing. If we get the green light from Ajax and player, we would deal, even with Toby still not sold, as we accept, and both sides are amicable, and he is exploring his options, whilst we negotiate with a noted club over here, and abroad. Citeh were keen, but not so much now. Probably to do with them wanting Lgit as well.

I am very reliably informed we in my connections opinion are his preferred. It is about the auction, as Ajax wants as much as 70m for him. If we feel that if we matched that, he would be ours, Daniel would structure a deal whilst he winces. This is the market we are in. My maths reflects a total cost of circa 170m, were we to get our targets. If Martial does not materialise, there is an under the radar player abroad at same age for under 20m, by some stretch. And this one would be a very good signing.

We have a choice of 4 CM’s, some in media, and one not so. We have a specific target in Germany, if we get our maths right.

We are willing to sanction those deals (if they can be done relatively quick) before selling. We would then recover that through Toby, Sissoko, Serge, Wanyama, The 2 N’s, VJ, FL.

Because major clubs are also in for same players, we have to tread carefully. We have been talking since January in some cases, and earlier in others. The negatives is WC, our window. We have to negotiate through this.

After reading Hercules latest info I strangely feel less confident about getting any of what appear to be our main targets. Hopefully it is just me being silly.
