I assumed this was the midfielder Herc alluded to from Germany a few days ago.

It could also be Dahoud who is 22 as well and proven quality. Sure there are dozens of other players it could be but would be happy with Weigl or Dahoud as that is the level of player we should be going for

I though Herc was alluding to a 22 year old Martial alternative? o_O

Now if that eats into half Poch’s budget for example, it is on his head. This is one of the things he means about being brave. Do I believe we would spend 70m on Lgit? No! Do I believe we would ‘consider’ such a deal for a 22 year old Messi-esq? I believe we would, as long as all the criteria’s are right. Do I believe that is going to happen? No

You might be right, im not sure, but Herc here could be alluding to that 70 mil player that we would get IF all our chickens are in a row. There was a point i assumed it was de Ligt but now im not so sure. Wigel is another possibility, but he certainly wouldn't be 70 mil. I think i read he had a 50 mil release clause but that was a long while ago. He could be just giving a hypothetical, but saying his age is 22 is very specific. Who knows, but its still good to have the ITK rolling heavy today.

He's arguably the best young CB in world football.

Unfortunately around £70m is the going rate nowadays for 'wonderkids' - If he has a good season then that value will almost double in a year.

Well, maybe, but we don't know if the inflated prices of the last couple of years are going to continue to increase exponentially.

Personally, I think it'll be a long time before we see a centre back going for £140 mill.

I've got nothing, but I'm addicted to this thread, keep up the good work in suggesting players I've never heard of, that I'm now desperate for our Danny Boy to purchasing for the best Spurs Manager I've had the pleasure of supporting. But I've got nothing,NOTHING:chicken:

70m for a teenage centreback that will probably be back up seems insane. Especially considering we have a Foyth knocking at the door for starts and Jan/Davinson forging a good partnership last season.

I find it really hard to believe we would shell out that kind of fee.

There’s no way we get all of our money back on Llorente, NKoudou will be similar to Njie, don’t recall making much of a profit there, but we’ll see - I hope you’re right and I’m wrong

Players in the championship have been bought for £15m. In todays ludicrous market Levy could get £25m for Sissoko and around £20m for Llorente and N'Koudou imo

Although I can't quite put my finger on the reason why, something tells me we won't be paying £70mil for DeLigt :cautious:

Why are people getting their knickers in a twist??? Are YOU financing the de ligt deal??

The club know what they are doing and won't blow a huge sum unless its necessary.

My cousin is 22, maybe we should guess its him??
No, not itk just think we can stop guessing the 22 year old now, could be anyone

Just now sharing my own views. I rate Lgit very highly, but not at 60m. 50m yes. I think Foyth’s value would of been similar had he been at Ajax. I think he is going to be a very special talent.

Our ceiling per player should be 50m, and think with all the names I am hearing we are interested in, that is possible. A risky gem at the age off 22 is not the risks we took before, as this particular one out of two players has proven on a bigger stage (hint).

We have to be smart, and take calculated risks on the right profile players. If Fulham are not promoted, I believe our first signing is possibly to be Sess. What I don’t want us to do is ‘F’ off Poch, going into August, with a few days (less than I think from memory 9 days). From what I know, the manager does not want to be bedding in say 3-4 players in August. My opinion is 2 at best, he doesn’t mind.

The above is my educated opinion, and why we have to watch how this pans out.

On a bigger stage as in the Bundesliga - a higher level than Eredivisie. De Ligt alternative being a player we’ve had previous ITK on and are still linked with - 22 year old Benjamin Pavard (rated one of the best centre backs in Germany last season whilst playing for a mid table side - hence a risk).
