i'm not buying that L'pool have come in with a bid. They would have had to have an agreement to sell Suarez in place and there just aren't any rumours out there that they negotiating.
The Bale thing is dumb - if the club do sell him behind AVB's back then you'll see him resign. We don't need the money at this stage anyway - better to keep him a year and he'll be worth even more but by that stage we would have challenged for the title and Bale would be happy to stay.

Personally, I don't waste a second worrying about Bale leaving. Our stance is clear. All ITK, logical reasons and AVB himself say he is staying.

Don't know why anyone else bothers getting in a tizzy about it ?!

Yep. It would be commercial suicide to sell him at this stage. Even £100m wouldn't be enough to compensate for having to find a new manager, back them with players they want, prevent other players from wanting to leave a sinking ship, and generally appease the fans.

I think most people are on board with the likelihood of Bale leaving next summer. Obviously I'd like him to stay for a few more years, but the reality is that most players want different challenges in their careers, and to push themselves at the highest levels. Even Ronaldo wasn't content to spend too long at Old Trafford.

One more season to see what AVB can really do, then he'll go to Madrid with my blessing. Of course that decision will be a hell of a lot easier for him if we fail to bring in a top quality striker.....

Welp, let's hope for some positive things tomorrow. A win against Sunderland and an announcement shortly thereafter confirming Soldado would make up for last Friday.

People are moaning that Levy is trying to pay what he feels is value for a 28 yr old? How many times does it need explaining to you? WE ARE NOT OWNED BY A RICH FOREIGN OWNER! WE CANNOT JUST PAY THE SELLING CLUBS VALUATION STRAIGHT UP!

Let our chairman do it his way. The only reason we are in the position to compete for players of Soldados calibre is through all the years of haggling.

I'm confident we will get there. It only seems to be taking a long time because we are receiving a blow by blow account.

One of the reasons we are not in the CL is the Club do indeed let the Chairman "do it his way". Thought that was fucking obvious. If haggling won Trophies Spurs would be unsurpassed. Unfortunately as countless transfer windows have proved, haggling win's you fuck all when it really counts to be smarter and bid for players we can actually afford. Shopping at Harrods with a Woollies charge card sometimes has it's drawbacks.

What's obvious is that there are 4 teams in the league with turnover over £100m more than us.

If we are ever going to compete with them financially long term we have to build the new stadium. CL may be good for a year or 2, but if we fail to get in a year then we have to start selling players which could lead toa collapse. A stadium is the only sustainable way, which may lead to being shrewd in the transfer market (by shrewd I mean tight) to pay for it.

The only reason we are able to discuss about CL or no CL and not about mid table mediocrity, is because we let the Chairman "do it his way". Thought that was fucking obvious.

Sure, when we really needed a striker to push on he sanctioned Saha. Great bit of business that turned out to be.

Then fucking buy accordingly. Nuff said.

Don't understand, that's what we have been doing but you're complaining.

Anyway there is a thread in spurschat for the Levy arguments.

Lets just say we all want a striker and will be gutted if we don't get one and get back to itk?
