Valencia's chairman has been in charge since June 4th and is listed in his wiki as an 'entrepreneur' having co-founded and developed an electronics company.
He was appointed by the Valencian government to the project and subsequently took over the chairman/president role.

The fucker is a businessman, which is good in the sense he should understand negotiation, but bad insofar as he is probably enacting some uber-complex cock-waving game theory inspired contest whilst trying to appeal to his new fans.

Let's hope Levy is well-hung.
A few good points. All chairman are there for a reason, to do the best deal for their club.

The point being the world of football knows that levy will try and train every £ he can. That's why it's so damn hard for us to do a deal.

This shit is frustrating have kept away from people I know in the game as things always seem to go tits up. Reading what others are saying the deal is still on the cards. But cant see their chairman budging from his stance.

Regardless of there debt if we want him we have to bite the bullet or others will come in. That's the facts simple as that.

As much as I'm conscious of the fact that we have a more limited budget than others, what you're saying there makes a lot of sense to me. We may get him or we may not but at some stage if we're going to go for players at this level and deal with clubs with chairmen like our own then we have to be prepared to cough up and maybe pay over the odds if we really want the player. Maybe we'll get the next player at a great price for us, swings and roundabouts.

I've been in and out of this thread all day since around the time that Grey Fox and WPD posted their ITK, but I'm obviously missing something. I haven't been in the Soldado thread (too scared) so perhaps that's why.

I understood (I think from WPD) that a deal had been agreed and that contracts were being drawn up by lawyers. Alternatively we were very close to agreement. Now it seems that the sky has fallen in, and JJ has said about a 'PR disaster'. What the fuck has happened that I have missed? (Please don't bother telling me about the Mickeys, Suarez, and the Goons.)

I have also read posts about the Valencia Chairman telling the world about our offer. If that's so can somebody please tell me what it is - in the detail that he's supposed to have outlined - as I would certainly like to know what it is.

Ta muchly.

What the fuck has happened that I have missed? .

Nothing.

Truth be told, few bits of opinion ITK apart it's gone really quiet since about lunchtime.
There is a general positive slant that can be gained from the few bits of input we have had & generally i'm relatively hopeful.
I have been reading/following both threads since about 8am, mainly on, occasionally off, and am nearly blind through severe brain fade though.

Why arent any ITK talking about Bale? It frels like EVERY newssource saying hes on his way to RM. I just care about that. With the Squad we got. We will only compete for the top with him staying.

I'm going to go all optimistic rating right now, but hopefully Valencia's side has shut the hell up because we told them if they want to get a deal done they need to stop broadcasting all of it to the public.

They've made their views on it well known. LLM even said he'd eat his own turd if we sold him this summer.

I think (hope?) Bale will sign a new contract, ending the speculation, but not before he is satisfied that the talk of "ambition" was not just bluster and we actually sign a striker.

Thanks jair.

So - apart from guesswork based on our pro-Levy or anti-Levy preconception, and in the absence of ANY hard information regarding our proposed deal and how much it is alleged to differ from what Valencia want - lots of people have gone Chicken Little for no apparent reason.

Fair summary?

Fair summary yes, but after the botched efforts to sign Leandro, Villa and Benteke, one can quite understand why SC ers are going Chicken Little.

I get that. I just thought that there had to be something that I had missed apart from TalkShite and (presumably) Twatter saying that the Mickeys had made a bid, and the Valencia Chairman playing to the gallery.

Fuck. Last 24hrs has been more crazier than the dead line day of last summer.

I guess we will get some new stories coming from likes of AVB in next 2 hours.

Every TW there seems to be a hard luck story where the other club moved the goalposts.

I don't buy that - either it's bollox or our negotiators need to get better. It's no good being a hard negotiator if you fail to get what you wanted.
