All fun and games yesterday folks, well Bacon and Senility. Apologies for my Lurpack cock up. Still, you have to laugh. No, seriously, you have to. I mean it. Laugh you ****s.
News is filtering through that John Terry is 2/1 to finish on the podium at the Monaco grand prix this weekend.
Not much ITK to report but we'll plunge straight in with POTL
POTL said:
[This was posted in the same thread as his cryptic given in Update 14]

Danny & Darren the Bacon Boys.
Now then. Leaving aside the fact that we can do without the cryptics right now i'm going to register my disgust at this blatant piece of instensitive posting. Bacon? Is POTL not aware of the clubs Jewish heritage?

At the same time, I learned that no matter how simple the cryptic, some of you will insist on twisting and guessing, just for the sake of it. Conventional wisdom is that the phrase simply refers to 'bringing home the bacon' meaning a successful negotiation with Ajax for Verthongen has been reached or is close to being reached. The rest is faff. Including my Lurpack faux pas.

Anyway, there was also another option. Danny & Darren the Bacon Boys..............After a night out in one of Amsterdam's notorious 'cafes' sipping on Advocaat and puffing on some 5 Euro Jamaican Woodbines, Danny and Darren ended up back at their hotel in a threesome with Miss Piggy.

Unconfirmed reports that Miss Piggy gave Danny one of her karate chops when he gave her the old 'sniff my finger' gag have been leaking in.

That's about it for the eyeteekay, JJ did pop his head in the thread to tell us we weren't only in Amsterdam.

This morning the Daily Mail are reporting that Dynamo Kiev have opened talks with Spurs regarding the signing of Kranjcar and Corluka for a combined fee of £10m
AND NOW A MESSAGE FROM OUR SPONSORS
DONATE YOU ****S!

£10m combined fee for Corluka and Kranjcar? I'd bite their leg off but I expect Levy will want more.

not bad... technically a profit as Corluka was bought for £5.5 and Kranjcar was bought for £2.5!
could easily see levy working his magic and getting a few extra £mill for them though

They will go for more I think...

We lose not only Corluka and Kranjcar, but subsequently Modric will ask to leave as I'm sure he wants to play CL anyways and now that his 2 best friends are gone, he's not exactly gonna be happier. Then once Modric goes we lose our Croatian fan base. This deal could actually have a ton of money at stake.

TBF there's only about 4 million of them, let's just sign a Chinese player on crap wages and play him once in awhile and we'll get 100x in jersey sales what the croatians gave us.

Okay, but then who would be our best VDV backup?

We don't have one, unless Pienaar comes back. How many times as Harry used Kranjcar as a VDV backup? I don't think we can say that is what his role in the squad is and I don't think Harry would use him that way very often.

Thanks for the round up A&C.

Tho what about Mystery's first, update 31?

And on the Croats, it's worthless havi g a squad of 25 if Harry only uses 14-15 different players in it. We need a strong squad to compete with the top teams, and we need to rotate. We don't need a back up to VDV, we need an alternate. Someone who can play instead of him, not play when he is injured.

He´s mainly been used as cover on the left side which truly is sad as he´s a CAM in my opinion. I beleive he´s labeled CAM in FIFA12 aswell. Wingers without pace aren´t much of a threat are they?
His glory moments in the spurs squad have all been when he´s done a "2012 Bale" and drifted in on a central position and blasted a strike or making a slick pass (which Bale rarely does btw).

Regarding Corluka- I thought he wanted to stay in Germany, what´s up with a move. Isn´t he wanted by the Germans?

Germans don't have money. Corluka is comming back to Tottenham, he may go elsewhere, but Leverkusen is off 100 pct.

How can they play in the f-ing CL and not have money? Seems strange... Perhaps the german TV-rights don´t pay off as much as the brittish ones? Now let´s hope the deals on!

They don't but I read that their TV right's have gone up massively for next season.

Because he isn't good enough? If Harry doesn't trust playing him then what is the point in us keeping him and paying his wages?
I think he is a good player, but I dont think he suits our style of play. Would love to sell him and get Hoillett in his place. A much more dynamic and exciting squad option with immense potential.
