All about wages Bobbins and unless he wants to take a big drop he wont be signing for us. No way will Daniel pay that sort of money on wages.

It's not about how much per player, but about how much we'll pay the whole squad. Given that, i'd happily trade in Jenas, Keane and Hutton's wages for Forlan's.

It is DFF. When someone is on 6 mill a year its about wages!

I'm sure the club would agree with the latter part of your post though!

Maybe i wasn't clear enough. The club doesn't have a wage cap, per se. At least not on a per player basis. We have a wage cap on the squad's wages as a whole, based on a % of turnover. There isn't a cap on how we divvy that up per player. So, if getting rid of Jenas, Keane and Hutton freed up 6m, we could afford Forlan within our current wage structure.

As Levy said, we need to "trim the squad", i.e. get rid of these overrated money pits and free up some wage room.

Ha ha ha

I've asked about him mentioning Cole.

So far he has confirmed the following..

Keane out (not sure where)
Crouch and Bentley (Both in talks with Fulham)
Jenas (QPR)

Those apparently meant to be going.

Naughton, Caulker and Walker to be getting a chance this season.

Also, and this did make me chuckle, but Taarabat coming back, has been talked about too - just a rather large rumour at the moment, nothing concrete on this.

Joe Cole agreed personal terms, he wants garanteed first team place though - apparently.
 not bashing but this was Archibald's reaction to this post on Spurs Odyssey

No way would I guarantee joe cole a first team place. He's shit. Liverpool were better off without him

Whilst I agree. I wouldn't even offer VDV or Modric a guaranteed first team place. A squad is about competition and providing each player with the stimulus to find the competitive edge to earn that first team place.

Fuck Archibald and fuck his reaction.

Shanks passed on in good faith, doesn't profess to be ITK and simply shared what he'd been told. It's a bit rich that Archibald feels the need to react this way when he himself is at the mercy of 2nd or 3rd hand info received.

Seriously, I just don't see this as being very viable. We reject Suarez because "ee's too similar to Vanda" and we go and sign Forlan ?

Does not compute.

And "they" were wrong about that....

seriously pretty much ANYBODY is an improvement on Crouch and pav

I echo that A&C. Shanks has posted in good faith and is definitely no WUM. Embarassing even to suggest. I think most ITK is placed in good faith and whether it is right or wrong it seems to entertain people for 30 odd pages!!
