Quick update...As things stand most likely combination is Berahino and Illiarramendi. We are confident of one of the back ups though, should there be a game changing offer for AI. They are the two the manager wants so as things stand every thing is still very much on track.

Am also told that WBA had always planned to hold SB up for as long as possible regardless of the money offered. They do not want to give the wrong impression by selling the best prospect the club have had in decades at the drop of a hat.
cheers trix as ever. would be well happy with that, and maybe a sneaky late bid for pato just for the sake of it ;)

Thanks for the info Trix! Awesome if it comes off. Unfortunately I still have symptoms of Willianitis!

All sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Would be a great window if they both happen.

Well it's going to be nail biting stuff in regards to the DM then. That will go right to the wire I would assume. I hope the confidence isn't misplaced on that as missing out on a DM will leave a sour taste on what has been a very good window providing Berahino come in.

I'll be honest and say as much as I want Illiarramendi, I would take a guarantee on a back up coming in now over a chance (whatever the percentage) of him coming in on deadline day at 5pm - because that will when it will be IMO.

It's too much of a risk.

I know nothing official has been agreed, but I was almost certain Illarramendi was off to Sociedad?

I think we have had ITK that whilst the DM will be a late one, it won't be as late as Deadline Day, let's hope that's the case.

Certainly seems that a striker/forward and a DM are priority signings and in some guise will be done before the month is out.

I think the potential ace up our sleeve is a second striker or forward purchase so could easily be somebody from left field that suddenly comes into view late on or perhaps an unexpected departure such as Lamela facilitating such a need.

Thanks Trix, be good to get these 2 over the line asap this week, not only because they'll improve us massively but because POCH wants them. Long game would have been worth it this time if the end result is the manager gets who he wants!

I've read that a few times on here but have no idea where it has come. The last thing I read came from Marca who said Illa prefers a move to the prem.

I'm not saying we won't sign Illaramendi, but this will be a huge ninja move if we do. All I've read all day are Pool fans claiming he's headed to to them.

Rodgers said pre-match that Lucas was their best DM. If he is off, then it would suggest they're after another

Signing Berahinho and Ian, despite the lateness of the signings, would make this an incredible window. Praying it comes off
