Agreeing to match a bid and actually matching it are 2 very different things. I must admit i didn't really understand that anyway. If a lower team bids you agree to match the bid knowing you are the preferred location. Matching Barca is like pissing in the wind.

Yeah, but if we were happy to match a bid up to say £50m that's still money we couldn't spend on someone else until Poch was happy to change targets.

Even if we could get one quality midfield body in and trimmed some of the N' & Janssen fat it would be a huge boost and a good window.

Sounds like Poch had a real hard-on for De Jong (which is fair, he looks superb) and wasn’t willing to consider anything else while the possibility was still there, no matter how remote. Now that it isn’t it looks like the wheels might be turning.

Hard to think of who the outs in ITK might be.

Poch has recently said we’re likely to sign an English player , so would imagine he’ll be English

And I'd be over the moon with that. Need to get ahead of the curve and bring in as many young talented English players as we can, for multiple reasons.

Ali Gold stated that is what he took from Poch's interview yesterday so I would be expecting the 'in' to be a young English player.

It's good that there's positive noise this late on in the window, typically we get hyped early and then are feeling like shit by this time.

I repeat again that Rabiot never went away. Fair to say his mama and others pissed a lot of people off. He has been speaking to us keenly. I personally doubt it, but not dead! He needs to sort the advisors he is using. We have been in dialogue with PSG for a good few months.

Championship players we are/were interested in, has a very high mark-up on them. If FFC go down, we will defo be back in for Sess. Ambitious ‘term move’ for a particular player at RM. we know who I am alluding to. 50/50.
