Only problem with that, is if we do play Kane and berahino on the left in games, shaq is only option on bench. Still need another one I think
It would just require a switch around. We'd bring Chadli on not Shaq and move B up front

If true, I can see Kane/Berahino/Shaq being our three options. Something tells me Poch is keen on Shaq, or is at least willing to give him the chance to do a kane
Wouldn't mind Shaq as 3rd choice at all. Looked sharp so far pre-season and I wouldn't write off any youth player after Kane and Mason last year.

Think he's the only oldie along with llorente we've been linked to. And cambiasso by fans not press
Oh. I saw ppl commenting and presumed there had been a link. Silly me. It's good to see we are planning with the long term plan very much in mind. However we do still need to keep an eye on the here and now.

The new from AtlantaYid makes me very hopeful. I've always loved the passion of youth and preferred it to the levelheadedness of veterans. I find watching a side grow up together is much more fun as a fan, too, than always buying a couple stars every summer.

Berahino and McCarthy fit in to that ITK too as they address serious needs in the squad. They're good enough to slot in early in the campaign and they're young enough to grow with the team into something great. They're also homegrown (I believe McCarthy is but I'm not 100%) which fills that need now that Lennon is probably leaving.

Cant really see anyone signed before the start of the new season, with only players leaving.... I think the only player Daniel signed just before the new season was Capoue....

I presume its the lull before the storm (for everyone for that matter)

Id be very, very concerned if Coulthirst is our 3rd choice striker next season.
Not really, we'd probably go for Chadli ahead of him i'd suspect. Timo Werner would probably be ideal though in all honesty as well as Berahino.

No guarantees Soldado will go either who would be fine as 3rd choice. Wouldn't be overly concerned with giving Shaq a shot, but he'd need to do well in pre-season.

so stick to the policy that has failed us last few seasons? or go back to the tried and tested one that our best teams have come from?, we are trying to build a team for the future not quick fixing things, the most successful teams are generally built and grow together and not thrown together

think this is one of the most exciting and optimistic times i felt as a spurs fan. finally feel like we have a game plan and sticking to it

I disagree, some of the best teams are built through lucrative purchases (Chelsea last year for example). Unfortunately, we can't afford the types of players that can build a championship competing side. Our only option is to build with youth and keep the team together. It may be the longer method, but it's our only hope at creating an elite side capable of something special. To add to that, its a bit more respectable in the end as well.

So we're happy having a million CB's and RB's, but content with Chadli and a kid for our 3rd choice striker?

When exactly did Spurs fans come to have such low standards?

and here is why JJ should leave twitter and make A&C a happy man......

In reference to JJ saying SB as "maybe" signing in 48 hours

@rich20101982: ha same Jetsetyid that said TA wasn't signing
@jetsetyid: seriously?
JJ was on SC before he joined Twatter, he'll always be one of ours!;)

Hmm JJ not blowing out the Berahino in 48 hours as a possibility is a massive surprise.

Maybe the player has confirmed he is very keen on a move and pulis is thinking of cashing in with the takeover falling through?

It's a risk but one well worth taking. Has all the attributes we are looking for.

Chadli scored 11 goals in the prem last season. Pretty good figures for someone who didn't play as striker. Putting him upfront is not the worst idea.

When has chadli played as a striker for us? He. isn't a striker.

Just checked and he was at Southend/York last season and scored 6 in 33. Optimism knows no bounds if people are happy with him in the first team right now.

Hope for the best, expect the worst. If Kane were to be injured and we were left with soldado and coulthirst for 3 months, would that be sufficient? I'm hoping the ITK (back on subject) means adding Berahino but also allowing youth a chance, not just showing naive faith

Actually JJ's non-committal answer means nothing at all. We don't learn anything new from it.

It could easily be "don't be so fuckin stupid" as equally as it could "yes mate, he's ours in 44 hours 24 minutes".

Not ruling something out as not happening is not the same as saying it will happen. Sorry for double negatives.
