A little bit on the Toby Martial merry go round.

Hearing Moureen still wants Toby United hierarchy would rather move for Maguire
though because it's "far less complicated".

Can see this one running on a bit still.

Toby must sign a new deal if he is to stay and play next season.

Thanks for the update Trix.

Let's sort out the differences with Toby and leave Manure to go for Maguire then, that would be the best outcome I think.
Whether it will happen is anyone's guess at the moment.

"far less complicated" means "not having to deal with Levy" any day of the week.

Well, we have a player they want, they have a player we want. It's obviously going to be less complicated to go and buy someone else with straight up cash.

Thanks as always @Trix

Makes absolute sense for TA to sign a new deal if he stays, even short term it will boost his earnings and hopefully gives us a bit more value on a future sale. Perhaps a gentleman's agreement on when he can move.

Definitely seems both sides are pretty stubborn on these prices though and will be interesting if we both move elsewhere for our players due to the lack of movement. I think Martial will end up the more unhappy if he ends up staying compared to Toby.

If the best interests of the clubs are to give the managers the tools they want then I get the feeling Poch would be happy to lose Alder for Martial and jose the same but uniteds board are preventing it. Let's see.

I've always maintained any deal here would be a deadline day one.

It’s complicated because the United hierachy know Martial has a massive ceiling and Toby is only good for a handful of years.

They don’t want to sell to us but they may have to to give the manager what he wants.

Have to say aswell, I think alder will be cheaper for the better player, depends how many years they can get out of him mind you.

Hasn't stopped them with Sanchez and I'd argue Toby's got longer in his legs than him.

As much as I’d love Toby to stay, I’d still take a Martial swapsie. Especially given the noises coming out of the club about him being disrespectful to MoPo.

I suspect the "Toby stays" scenario might be almost as tricky as getting the Toby/Anthony deal done.
