He's very skilful, strong and a David Silva type player who won't rapidly deteriorate over the next 2-3 years as he's not reliant on pace (pretty slow) and will therefore not need to adapt his game. In saying that, the press are quoting figures of £25m which instantly rules us out.

I do not question Turan's quality, most of us would agree that he is a top player. It's just the fact that he doesn't quite fit our revised transfer strategy of buying youngish talented players. His price tag has to be in the 25 mill area for sure, I can't see Levy splashing that amount of cash on a player of his age (especially after the Soldado fiasco).

Hmm, that does familiar, now you mention it. But I can't see how having a massive wage bill because of players refusing to move wouldn't affect us, really? Levy runs a tight ship in that regards normally.

There was something about being prepared to let them rot, and that this would somehow get the idea across that they weren't going to play.

The problem with that is I that I don't think that's much of a threat to millionaires on high wages who don't have any interest in playing.
