Rumours are that up to 3 of them might be off to Watford. Which would help us immensely if true.

No way will Arda Turan join a club that's not in CL. We have zero chance of signing him!

Being from a Turkish background I use to follow Turkish football regularly. I remember us being linked to Turan before he moved to Atletico. I was arguing with people on here who were telling me he doesn't have the quality to play for Spurs and we don't need him because we have Aaron Lennon. Wish I could remember with who I had that convo. I wonder if they still feel the same way :D

i see this has been mentioned, there was some confusion on coys whether it was about ms or turan. think i got it right here

ali z ms:we are 1 of 3 with arse and utd but nobody has agreed a fee.
trix: More in it than that mate, Saints have had enquiries from both City and PSG aswell. As I have said when one club agrees a fee I wouldn't be surprised to see others match it fairly quickly.
trix: Then there are definitely 5 teams(that I know of) interested according to Saints end.
aliz on ms: Although plenty are interested we are the most keen on him and he knows that.
ali z on turan: Nothing and imo not affordable by us.

Hmm, that does familiar, now you mention it. But I can't see how having a massive wage bill because of players refusing to move wouldn't affect us, really? Levy runs a tight ship in that regards normally.

Of course it will affect us, regardless of what any itk said, its basic financial economics.

There was something about being prepared to let them rot, and that this would somehow get the idea across that they weren't going to play.

The problem with that is I that I don't think that's much of a threat to millionaires on high wages who don't have any interest in playing.

I'm sure we'll be enlightened by some more itk on this in as the window progresses.

ali on ms again: Am positive we are trying hard but realistic if one of the bigger clubs pay the fee very unlikely he will choose us.

Can we move on from Scheiderlin? Please? He's not coming. Move. On.

Go for Christoph Kramer. He's also a very good player, he's 2 years younger and would probably come cheaper. He's also a world cup winner, btw.

Marco Boogers says high - Wham player from mid 90's signed for £1m (then a big sum) played 4 games initially but never again afterwards but on a 3 or 4 year contract. Ouch

You forgot to mention CL clubs may well offer 50% more wages than Spurs will - even though we offer very good wages (far higher than Southampton for example)

Looks like Watford is the new QPR, wanting our deadwoods.
I hope the deals materialises

Mail and Mirror going with the story now. Hope we get some ITK confirming. Anyway back to the discussion really don't think we will get Schneiderlin. But then I have doubted it since the beginning.

Hopefully our targets are Schneiderlin, Kramer, Imbula, Sven & Lars Bender in that order

But we're still paying their wages. We can't just chuck them in the dungeon (which we blatantly have) and have it not affect transfers.
Levy made sure to have a dungeon included in the plans for our training ground. That's where we kept Gomes, chained up in his gimp-box, for the best part of 3 years.

People need to remember 'soccer' is still in its infancy in the U.S. and they have nowhere near the standard of coaching found at top flight European clubs. You don't see many 'technical' or highly 'skilled' American's playing in the MLS... they tend to do the basics well but are out of their depth in comparison to the rest of the world. In saying that, as a nation the national side has come on leaps and bounds, and there's increasing signs they're producing players 'capable' of playing at a higher domestic level.

'Soccer' - As a Brit living overseas I have it pointed out when I say it is football that the name soccer originates from an abbreviation of Association Football and the abbreviation was created in England.

Yeah, always enjoy seeing the look on people's faces when that gets pointed out, Tampa. Well played. Soccer comes from the English middle class way more than the US.

Never mind that the USA has more people playing football than us by a multiple of five to one. Never mind that more people watch soccer live than watch 'American Football' live in that country. Never mind that their professionalism at youth level is better organised and reaping quicker rewards than England's. Never mind that in the last four World Cups England have bettered the USA's performance a grand total of once... we still talk about them as if they're some clueless, backward dribbling incompetents with worthless ambitions of grandeur.

English blinkers. Best blinkers in the world.
