Shame, if Morgan's comment had been right, Id have been happy enough with that. Kind of prefer Ljajic from what I've heard/read, but I do think Eriksen would be a good addition, and reasonable fee given his contractual situation. Ljajic just sounds too tricky to tie down. Strange Roma are rumoured to be looking at Ljajic or Nedelev as replacements for Lamela, yet we are allegedly looking at them alongside Lamela.
Think that will wrap up our signings, Chiriches, Lamela, Eriksen/Ljajic/Nedelev and a LB. the ITK about a return for LD does tend me to think Ade is off, maybe Defoe too, with LD and a younger player backing up Soldado.
Overall, if we bought those players, I'd be over the moon with our sumner transfer window business.

Nedelev - I wonder if he is the makeweight in the Lamela deal i.e. you can have a free run at the Bulgarian lad if you give us Erik? Am I getting to much into conspiracy theories here everyone? :cautious:

You forgot Halilovic (sp), and seeing that list along with who has signed, wow, sterling work Levy/Franco, only about a week left of this roller coaster.

How is spending 17m on raw potential good? That was our transfer record a month ago! It's a shed load of money. He's not played much for Betis yet and has had injury problems already in his career.

I understand speculate to accumulate but that seems to much on too little, currently.

I also think that he wouldn't play much so money could be better spent elsewhere.
£85m from Bale to pay for current transfer.

JL £50m loan paid back in 10 years to pay for Halilovic, Vadillo, and other promising youngsters.

There will most definitely be some sort of tacit agreement between Roma and Baldini - firstly they released him knowing he would most likely come to us and knowing he would have the same scouting list

If you add the context of us supposedly wanting Lamela then I think you can safely say they'll be asking us to move aside for certain players......

If we do get a more established forward player in, I do like the idea of combining the signing with a youngster or two with fantastic potential - I haven't seen anything of players such as Vadillo or Halilovic or Nedelev but in theory, for a club not in the Champions League, it might be worth the punt.....

Fair enough but my point is that 15m plus shouldn't be spent on youngsters who won't get first team action. How many times have we spent that much on any player? 5 times ever (by my count). Too many variables to be a wise investment.

It is a lot of money but I'm sure DL will insist on a mortgage length payment structure :)

Is there anything to confirm that Ryan's ITK was anything to do with Vadillo? If it is, the 17m buy out clause is ludicrous.

Is it not about the same fee Roma paid for Lamela a couple of years ago?!..........and we're now trying to buy him for.........

I love the idea of buying more youngster with huge potential and i know what you mean about the price. But don't most transfer fees look pretty ridiculous. Modric seems a bargain now!

If it's for the right player........Go fot it i say. If you want safe's bet's then we better get Arry back!

Id rather majority be based on appearances and achievements such as when we win the prem! I trust DL completely so I'm sure the man's got a plan.
