I guess it's going to be the boy Sandro then

If the squad are in Barcalona they would all travel together. So if reports are correct and Kane was going to Madrid to shoot a Nike add then it makes sense that he would travel between the two on a private Jet. Therefore that would suggest that if his jet needs to make space for one more, then the extra baggage would be coming from Madrid and not Barca?

This has probably already been suggested/worked out so if it has I apologise, but I see a lot of suggestions that the player in question could be Sandro or Bartra

Things hotting up at last it seems. :)

Seems a bit odd to buy a player from overseas in a window where you should be looking for players that can make an immediate impact and won't need time to settle. Also other ITK pointed to MD2 coming in pending his replacements. I think he is the Townsend swap hence him going now so we should at least have something to cheer about on the transfer front.

EDIT: Just re-read this, I'm not excited to see Townsend go as its sad it hasn't worked out. I meant more the fresh talent in Dembele coming in.

I think its all starting to add up to us wanting a younger back up to Kane. Not someone who is going to cost a fortune and be demanding first team action. There's itk on us not fancying Berahino now, there's info (from Ali z and Atlantayid) that we might only sign young players, there's itk (from hertyid) that we like dembele and now there's itk lining us with players from Spain where we've been linked (albeit in the press) to Sandro.

Don't think the striker option needs to make an immediate impact. Harry is doing fine but what we do need is cover, in cas of lack of form, injury and to give him a rest. I would fancy most strikers we could bring in could have a go in the Colchester game (if sorted in time) giving Harry a nice little rest between matches

Given we trained at Espanyol, perhaps it's someone from there that Poch is going back for

If Harry gets injured which is most people's worry then someone will have to immediately blend in. I'm not among the doom mongers because I feel Son is a more than able deputy and actually offers the most similar thing to Kane which is the Energy, Long Range Shooting and a bit of a bustle/physical presence.

Potentially thrusting a 20 year old with no experience in this league or country that might get homesick into a high pressure situation like this might not be the best for them in the long run. A player like Sandro would be a better summer acquisition getting a pre season and the chance to settle in.

If Harry gets injured on 1st of Feb then they would very much need to make an instant impact.

no player, not even messi, is big enough that an entire team and their coaching staff move to a city so they can sign a player. It's just a routine mini training camp to ensure the team holds the highest level possible coming into an important part of the season.

They have obviously not travelled to Barcelona only to sign a player. Nobody is suggesting that the entire team and staff left for one sole purpose ... :stop:

Key word there is IF

As we've seen with Vertonghen, doesn't matter how generally fit you are, injuries are part of the game and we are a big enough club with enough resources that we should be adequately prepared. Bemoaning bad luck and hindsight etc after the fact doesn't cut it.

Difficult to do business in Jan I know, but that's our own fault for what happened in the summer. As I've said before, there must be a reasonably experienced striker somewhere in the whole world who's surplus to requirements at his current club and could do a job on loan for 4 months.

It won't help him recover from his injury either!

Doubt it's Sandro. The sticking point has been the buy back clause which applies even if we meet the buy out clause.

Levy, rightly so, is unwilling to buy a player on those terms. I think Barca have other offers for Sandro from clubs desperate enough to accept a buy back clause.

My guess is that we are in Barcelona to train. Poch does this every year (when schedule allows). it takes months of planning to book these things. It would be a remarkable coincidence to bring back a player.
