To be fair, if Danny rose isn't leaving this summer, he won't be leaving next summer either because of the stadium move.

The stadium is a game changer that is of little doubt but our first few seasons in there will probably be much the same as ii is now.
I would not be at all surprised if rose and or 1/2 others wanted to leave if they want top dollar and or the biggest prizes.

Can see the rose news being true but not sure bout that itk. Makes sense why we are trying to sign sess and loan him back to Fulham maybe to sweeten the deal and give him experience. Think rose seems like he would wanna go back up north sure read something before about it. Especially if he loses his mate walker. Would be a shame but as with walker trust poch to replace. Which is mental when you think them 2 are probably best full backs in the league

since theres nothing else,..pinch of salt
TC on simb: My mate just sat next to rose on a flight home from Ibiza, he said he won't be leaving this summer due to the injury, he said the club are looking at young potential signings and won't make any big name signings which he said he was a bit gutted about . Nothing too exciting in there . My mate said his leg was in a brace and he was still limping quite heavily

This ties in with The Goats info in update 7.

And thanks Dov.

Shame about Lemar as I thought he was exactly the stature of player we should be trying to get as he isn't unproven. He's just won his domestic championship, proved himself in the Champions League, played well for France recently and did well against us. Too often, we buy 21/22 year old attackers who are relatively unproven at the highest level (possibly Son aside).

With Zaha signing a new contract and Lemar possibly going elsewhere, I can't think of who we can get in who is similar type of player. We need a bit of pace upfront which would help us on the counter against the big teams when we play away. I see Barkley as competition for Eriksen.

Funny thing is, I have no idea if he is more similar to Zaha or Lamela (we need a Zaha type - power, pacey, beat a man etc), but I am really pissed off that he isn't coming. So pissed off, that I had to write my 15th post in 10 years of being on this brilliant site.

I guess it's because of his immense potential and good play last year (i think 14 goals and 14 assists) in a team that was exceptional last year.

I'll pick myself up, move on to the next one I get excited about, only to probably miss out again.

If there is anything in the plane ITK it does indeed make the Sessegnon deal vital now, even if just loaned back for one season...

Rose spoke very candidly on that recent BBC radio interview. Said he hoped the club would sign a big name and also heard that full backs were going to go big money this summer. In addition he remarked that some players may tired of being 'nearly men' at spurs.

So if he did say that on the plane, it wouldn't surprise me. No wonder he doesn't do many tv interviews, he just says things as he sees them and although that's to be admired, it's probably not in line with club message.

Lot of truth in what Rose said then and now. If we want to kid ourselves differently then so be it.

Having worked in medical repatriation in the past, I'd be suprised if Danny wasn't made to purchase the 2 seats next to him, for safety and comfort

Was expected around £60 mil all things considered.

Englands number 1 right back
Home grown
Stones went for £50 mil and he's average
Prem proven
4.5 year contract
Stupid inflated market
Levy is our chairman

If he gets above £65 mil that would be impressive.

If Rose ITK is true, there is nothing surprising there...Likes of Dele ,Dier, Son,Wanyama when signed were not big name signings. I would even add likes of Trippier & Davies to that mix. We don't need a big name signings, we need signings who can enable the already functioning squad do better.

But Rose situation is worrying indeed. Another week or so to start of preseason - if he is still in knee brace, it is very worrying indeed. Makes Sessegnon signing all the more important. Knee injuries takes time. So, Ryan may be needed afterall.

His injury is obviously worse than what we all thought although if it is to be believed I'm more concerned over his views on the way the club is moving forwards.
It appears from the itk with obvious amounts of salt that if he wasn't he might be off too, it's going to be a tough ask keeping this squad together, maybe a cup win may alter their views slightly.

Think it's not saying the final fee is a lot higher just that it won't be made up in loads of add ons as is usual. Danny clearly wants most of the cash up front. If it's 50m then it's at least 45m in cash up front.
