The Goat said its close on Sunday but then hercules posted in RS thread:

Yeh just checked and saw, thanks.

Would be amazing if we got Sessegnon, Foyth, Sanchez and Aurier.

Got one (Sanchez), ITK positive on 2 (Aurier and Foyth) and we have 50:50 it seems on Ryan. That would be an entire new back line of superb young talents.

So regardingng ITK and signings this week we have;

  • Jadon Sancho - According to @Hercules it's all but done, we're just waiting for City to stop being twats
  • Juan Foyth - On his way to England after playing his last game. Expected to sign/be announced Monday-ish according to this Sportwitness news article. Hairdresser ITK from @L-man claims that he's a "Tottenham player"
  • Serge Aurier - He's clear of all the legal issues and unless another past-crime pops up or he snakes us and decides to move to another club, he's essentially ours according to @Hercules. @JJetset says that he's not done.. yet, which IMO seems fairly positive.
  • Ross Barkley - Still negotiating with Everton. Seems very likely and the deal could be completed before deadline day according to @Trix
  • Ryan Sessengnon - Seemingly not going to happen. I forget who posted this info.
  • Martial - not going to happen; United don't want to sell him according to @Trix
  • Also there's a player, currently nameless on the cards who @Trix believes would be a "superb buy"
I think I have that right, but I may have missed something or other.
Anyway, don't panic guys.

Foyth, Aurier, Barkley and Sancho all seem very likely to become Spurs players by the this time next week.

That'd leave us with a transfer window of:
  • Sanchez
  • Gazzaniga
  • Sancho
  • Barkley
  • Aurier
  • Foyth

which I personally think would be fucking amazing. Any additions on top of that would be the icing on the cake.

Just an observation on that list;
  • Sanchez
  • Gazzaniga
  • Sancho
  • Barkley
  • Aurier
Are all Nike athletes. Foyth is the only exception with his Adidas.

Hercules mentioned that Keita was being a dick and we've moved on.

Also mentioned we have 4 forward targets, 1 from Italy that would be loan a option to buy next year for 40-50M and the others from Spain and France.

I still think we will get a surprise signing in here also, not one of those listed above. Still even if we get 3 of our main targets on top of Sanchez and Gazza it would be a good window.

Worth noting there are three separate groups there. A list of 4 strikers. One Italian striker (worth 40-50m). And wingers from Spain and France (worth around 10m).

I did a quick search after you suggested the mystery attacker would be a Nike athlete and the one in Italy who stood out on the list I saw was.. Inter's Mauro Icardi. 40-50m? perhaps. Not saying it is though. There weren't many listed and transfermarkt makes it difficult to search by 'outfitter' as they put it.

Whilst I'd be excited IF we make all of those signings, honest reality check for majority of us:
  • Sanchez - didn't know before, but looks great
  • Gazzaniga - only knew as bad
  • Sancho - kid who didn't know before and frankly won't push for 1st team
  • Barkley - liked a lot but didn't love
  • Aurier - good player but bit of a ****
  • Foyth - didn't know before
As great as it is that we're poaching these up and coming talents for the future, people need to not just get excited about any signing and stop saying we're having history's best transfer window.

He will be worth a lot more then that, only recently signed a new contract, is Inter captain and on top of that he is proper old school number 9. No chance he moves to us to be Kane's back up.

Well, apart from that...

There weren't many other options though. Just responding to the attacker/Nike comment, that's all.

Whilst I think the list of players above would all be excellent additions, both to the first 11 (Aurier, Sanchez), the squad (Barkley) and for the near future (Sancho, Foyth), I would still be disappointed if we didn't bring in another attacker. We all know it's an area where we need a little something extra and the ITK about Balde, Martial and mystery players in Italy indicate that the club know it's an area that needs attention too. Failure to bring in someone would leave our business this window incomplete in my opinion, no matter how good our other acquisitions are.

  • Foyth - didn't know before
  • Sanchez - This is honestly the signing I'm most excited about. I genuinely think this kid will become a absolute beast of a player. Another quality CB was a necessity anyway if we're going to play 3ATB.
  • Gazzaniga - I get that he's not the most exciting signing, but he's a necessary signing. We can't go into the season without a 3rd choice keeper, and come on "only knew him as bad" is a bit harsh.
  • Sancho - I get that this kid won't be a first teamer immediately, but do you seriously think signing one of the most promising young talents in the country isn't a great move? It's also testament to our reputation as a club that he'd prefer to join us than get £30k per week at Man City.
  • Barkley - This is the one player I am not sold on. I personally don't think he's got the right attitude, but he fills a necessary place in our squad as a backup AM and he is a good player. If Pochettino is able to get the best out of him he could really be a great player, he does have the potential.
  • Aurier - To start off with, he is a very good player. He'd be a great and necessary replacement of Kyle Walker. As for his attitude, I know he's done some pretty retarded stuff, but who didn't when they were young. With any luck, he'll have changed now. It's a gamble we have to take to secure a player of his quality for the funds we have. If he has sorted out his attitude, we'll have gowan absolute bargain for him.
  • Foyth - Promising young player. Can't say much else as I don't know much about him, but if Wimmer does leave as has been rumoured then he'll be necessary as our 4th choice CB. Anyway, I'm never opposed to taking a punt on a young player with potential.

In summary, we've filled all the necessary gaps in our squad (Except a possible pacey winger, who could still be on the cards according to some ITK), signed some high quality players, and brought in a couple of youngsters with bags of potential.

Considering we have possibly the best starting XI man-for-man already in the PL, I think this would be a pretty damn good transfer window.

Agree on all counts. My post wasn't to dismiss the signings but to ensure people don't get completely big headed about everything.

Oh sorry, I misinterpreted your post slightly then.

I understand I am getting slightly carried away, but I honestly think this window could turn our squad into something absolutely phenomenal :)

To the people saying our window won't have been great, if we make the 6 signings of Sanchez, Aurier, Barkley, Gazzaniga, Foyth and Sancho our team for next year could potentially look like this.

Kane
Eriksen Alli
Rose Wanyama Dembele Aurier
Alderweireld Vertonghen Sanchez
Lloris
Subs: Vorm, Tripper, Foyth, Davies, Dier, Barkley, Son, Janssen

And that would be with the likes of Edwards, Sancho, Winks, etc. all fighting for places in the squad aswell!

I don't know about you guys, but personally I think that squad would be solid as fuck.

If we do get a solid pacey winger (which, some people seem to be forget is still on the cards) then that team will just become ridiculous.
I can assure you buddy, A&C is wanking over that formation right now.
