Amazing ITK over the last few days. There are a load of players that we, as a fanbase, may not be aware of and chat about. Much like many didn't know about Keita Balde until the ITK. That is just testament to a good scouting network. If we are revisiting or even visiting a player that hasn't been discussed here at length that wouldn't be a surprise would it ?

Backing Poch is the biggest thing for me. He has come out and said in press conferences that he expects 3 or 4 more signings. That seems odd to share to the press and I wonder if he is saying it publicly to put some pressure on Levy. Poch obviously wants Barkley. We assume Aurier is hopefully done. If all they bring in is Foyth and maybe Aurier, then bottom line they have not backed him after he made statements that he expects more. That would be worrisome.

We shall see I guess. Does Levy step up and deliver or do we get repeats of past windows?
This is the thing: I can't remember Poch ever being this explicit about his desire to see some signings so it doesn't bode well if the window ends with a whimper.

Don't understand what the hold up with Barkley is. Thought it was Everton signing Gylfi, personal terms apparently long since agreed, there's been months to sort out the transfer fee.... Bit strange that it's going to be touch and go to get it done before the deadline.

months ago Everton wanted £50m for a player entering his final season, they also knew that they weren't going to get that amount off anyone, so made sure they would leave it to the deaf to make sure when he did join, he wouldn't be match fit (this was before the injury) now if we pick him up for £30m (still too high) we save £20

Worrisome as well is why they have not announced a signing like Foyth that by all accounts has been done for a while. Even today I believe ITK has inferred that Spurs know the result of Aurier's permit verdict and whether he will be able to be completed. Are they simply holding off on these announcements because they worry that they may not have anything else to announce on Thursday? Are they thinking that announcing two transfers (Foyth and Aurier) on deadline day will appease fans and signal that they did make moves?

If Aurier isn't announced tomorrow I think it makes sense to worry further. Why hold back unless that's possibly the last move?

Maybe because Everton played their card by spending on GS without an agreement in place. DL saw an opportunity to really hold fast on a much lower offer than they asked for as they were commited. In his mind they paid £45m for a direct competitor so he believed they would always come down to him eventually if the player really does only want us.
Or, DL has since shaved a wedge of the 'pre-agreed' price, justified in doing so because of the injury. We have had ITK that he likes a re-negotiation, if there's ever an opportunity to drop your offer it's when a player is injured and will miss a chunk of the season.

The £20m we save.... we'll lose again by exiting the Champions League early because we bought a player who wasn't fit to play in it (even when Dele will miss three games). Maybe, maybe not.

So much speculations and unnecessary worries, tempered with very negative attitudes, despite the positive news from the ITKs, who all seem to be singing the same song.

Have faith and just enjoy the ride. If you cannot then just log off and go and read a book

So Hercules is saying that Sessegnon could be back on and Ali Z is talking about a Freyers situation with Sancho. So Sancho to Fulham for a season as a gesture while we sign Sessegnon. We then take Sancho in a year and Fulham have all of next summer to get their replacement sorted.

Simples.

Hey @Archibald&Crooks , @Stoof has a full BSoDL uprising underway and without you here to keep things on track I fear by Friday morning we may all end up 18" shorter, unable to reach our car keys in our trouser pockets and muttering 'I Love Levytime, I Love Levytime' constantly under our breath :(:shifty:

On a more serious note, anyone whose been here more than 5 minutes will know how much work has gone into this thread for YEARS. SC may not have invented the ITK phenomenon but it made it available to us as mainstream fans, you guys made it famous and accessible to all. For that we say thankyou and long may it continue, it adds a unique dimension and insight to the club we love.

So, as you are the main reason this thing happens twice a year, you'd better get your fat backside off whatever deckchair it's parked and join in the madness that is Transfer Deadline Day (or even the Day Before Transfer Deadline Day).

I can't promise there won't be any off topic, player guessing, white text nonsense but it will be a laugh and there's one thing for sure.......it wouldn't be the same without you.

Not for RO...:cautious::D

This thread has begun to feel a lot like Nouveaux Man City fans commenting on the plight of the current Sunderland team. This despite the fact the people who's info this thread exists for tellling us it's all ok actually. I kind of don't get why people come in here. ITKs who by the very essence of being verified ITKs know more than those of us who aren't pop in and say nah it's all good chill yet still people moan. If you don't believe the ITKs and thus in your opinion their info is worthless why come here to read it?

We can't do a Fryers with City if they don't let him cancel his contract, which is what seems to be the hold up. He still has another year of the scholarship contract. So even if another team signs him for us, the problem will still be there

Presumably the the thinking is that they'll give in and let him leave if he decides to sign somewhere else i.e. not a PL rival

Clearly this isn't the right thread, but as this seems to be where everyone seems to vent their anger, I'm saying it here. Levy love him or hate him, is the person who has led us to Wembley and on onwards in time to to a new state of the art stadium, he hired Poch, who in turn has led us to a 3rd and 2nd finish. From there Poch has given us a real reason to believe we can achieve things we thought weren't realistic... Seriously, hold off for a few more days before ye decide to flip the lid, have some faith which most don't want to have, and take on the info which Hercules, JJ, GF have given us and run with it, and hopefully, as Arthur Guinness once said " Good things come to the what wait"

Off topic posts are what is putting this thread in danger

I'm thinking maybe sign him for nearer what City want (which I guess is more than £3m) and then Fulham pay us the difference from the £3m to take him on loan for a season. I think it's more about what City get for him from the deal and any sell on fee in the future. They know he wants to go but they also want what he's truly worth (which is fair enough).

From what we have been told previously, there is no problem with Sancho cancelling his contract with City. But if he does, he cannot represent another club during (what would have been) the remaining 10 months of his scholarship unless that other club agrees compensation with City. If City are playing hard-ball on compensation, he would presumably be able to train with us, but not play competitive football for us until July next year. Not a satisfactory situation.
Based on the suggestion of a Fryers solution - maybe overseas clubs are not covered by this ruling. And, just maybe, such a club could take on Jadon's contract and then immediately loan him to us, with a purchase option set for next Summer.
