FWIW: We'll have these new signings in 3 weeks earlier than we would have had them if the transfer window closure hadn't been moved forward. And we would have been delighted with that.

Does it matter that much?

The situation has changed. The rest of the clubs have changed. Only we have stagnated, dilly dallying with the transfer of a championship player. That's what matter.

I think last year's "Sissoko" window rates pretty highly in the strange window stakes. I honestly couldn't understand it then and I still find it strange now. Will never quite get my head around that one.

Yet it probably made some folk content as it was a signing none the less!

Sticking with the 'glass half full' outllok until Hercules joins COB, and then you know things are fucked!!

Wasn't that two years ago now?

Every window is strange. None stranger than the window where we signed Rasiak in complete desperation in the last knocking on deadline day.
Leopard can't change its spots.

Strange or not, the 05/06 seasons' TW was actually one of the best we've had since I've been supporting Spurs (circa 1990).

A lot of those players really strengthened the squad at the time.

Even Rasiak wasn't a complete disaster; pony player, but we already had Keane, Defoe and Mido at the club.

Anyway, this isn't ITK...

...sorry A&C

Off topic. McGuire not for sale. Leicester have put a 85m price on his head to ward off interest. But also to reflect his new contract. So I am hearing within the corridors.

£85m would make Harry Maguire the 8th most expensive footballer of all time!!!! Haha good one Leicester

I'm trying to make sense here. Am I right in saying that really none of us have a clue what's going on at the minute? Grealish was done but not now, martial they won't sell but might now and Zaha but too expensive? But we're expecting at least 3 signings? It's not to slag off the ITKs just that everything is either coming together or falling apart atm.

Think Leicester might be the most unrealistic sellers in football, I remember they demanded 90m + Roberts for Mahrez in january. This price tag seems spot on (by their standards)

What do you expect them to do when saying they don't want to sell? They're just saying a number that's going to put the prospective buyer off.

Back in for Toby then, but with less negotiating power on the price...
