I'm going to bed. This bet is 14 hours in. To be honest, by the time I get into work tomorrow and have time to check this it's not worth my effort to continue the charade.

so the jig is up. This bet was paid before it was made. Feel free to check with A&C or Rob.

I contacted Rob and asked him how finances were going. I decided to give 100 based on the response, and then asked if I could run this experiment. And it worked well. Without any posts about how it was policed, the thread worked well and never needed mod interventions. People even had fun. Our only aggro was an hour when JTY was getting under people's skin. But that happens in any forum like this..

I love this site and, like you, I am welcome to help out financially as much as I can. What my 100 gets me.....probably a little leniency when I write up some batshit insane post. What my 100 will never get me....ability to dictate policy. They would never allow me that, and it's why I had to contact them to even run this.

Anyway, I'm not dick enough to take away 100 from my favorite site over some random comment. And I can't imagine that A&C/Rob would allow me to openly wager such. But the fact that they would allow this experiment says epic amounts about them. You guys are rock stars! I mean that. No other site would allow such things to go down. And you should wake up everyday, as I do, thankful for such a great site. Seriously

I paid this bet off 14 hours ago, but am happy to be able to say that I lost. And it was a good day of fun for the most part. And it was a 100 well spent. Hopefully we can continue on a fun day.

Cheers

and the next time you think to try a social experiment, check the exchange rate. Rob openly laughed at my discovery of the dollar's weakness after I gave. He should have though, because it was funny discovering that 100 was $160USD.:D

I placed a bet on Deschamps when Harry was sacked, but can`t see it happening... All signs points to AVB!

Apologies if it has been posted already, but France's Le Monde are tonight reporting that Blanc is in discussions with Levy.
Here's the relevant bit, with thanks to Google translate:

Laurent Blanc, 46, should not extend his contract as coach of the France team football. Reportedly, he is in talks with English club Tottenham looking for a coach since the departure of Harry Redknapp. Jean-Pierre Bernes, the agent of Laurent Blanc, has re-established contact with the London club chairman, Daniel Levy, Monday, June 25 "I will not comment," said the chairman of Tottenham. Laurent Blanc and Daniel Levy had made contact before the Euro, before suspending their negotiations for the continental competition.

Meanwhile, Noel Graët, president of the French Football Federation (FFF), has initiated discussions with Didier Deschamps, now coach of Olympique Marseille. According to our information, these negotiations are facilitated through Guy Stephan, assistant coach of Olympique Marseille, very close to Deschamps and also The Graët, he took as president to En Avant Guingamp from 1976 in 1980. Guy Stephan and Graët have also been in contact recently. "I am not aware of anything, the boss responded to the FFF. Laurent Blanc has a contract until June 30 with the federation and coach Didier Deschamps is Om."

Under contract until 2014, the captain of the 1998 world champions has already decided to leave the club after a season of contrasts OM in sport. Finding a financial compromise between Vincent Labrune, the president of OM, and his coach was started there more than a month.

The interesting bits for me are that talks with Levy are meant to have resumed on Monday and that Blanc's contract expires on June 30th. Probably still AVB though.

So basically we haven't got a clue who is gonna walk through the curtain on Monday!

Did you? The only thing that I saw that could be construed as anti-spam spam was this by OmarsComing: "Gtfo with that poetry shit." Was that it? If so then I think you're still winning.

I though the interesting bit was
and coach Didier Deschamps is Om

Om A mystic syllable, considered the most sacred mantra.

paul smith has been wrong before with ITK, he claimed Arshavin was done and a few posters bet on this only to lose their money
Everybody thought it was done.
Even Gus Poyet said "we were expecting him in training" and then he went to ........................................... Them

If its AVB I'm sold, I've been keen on him since he was first mentioned and I don't think many of you give him the credit he deserves after a slump at a Lower standard club, so bite tongue and have faith in levy's decisions ;)He is young and his footballing vision suits our current squad, he is a long term replacement so with time he could be brilliant and If we are after some porto players ( Rodriquez and moutinho for me ), Vertonghen, Ade and possibly still the likes of Remy and an unmentioned Dutch player, I see an exciting two months ahead transfer wise.

I saw Sigurdsson one or two times last season playing for Swansea and I think he's class, with the right couching he could well be our next "modric", not in terms of similarity, but it terms of what he brings to the club in his own right.

Modric leaving is a sad situation for me, he won't be replaced but we can adapt and possibly improve with the right transfers ( Moutinho anyone? :p ) and move on from his departure. He deserves a shot at possibly the biggest club in football and if we can get a good deal financially + player if possible, I'd wish him luck :notworthy: We still got Lennon, SuperSan and God Bale in midfield and they not exactly mediocre footballers either, so lighten up a bit on Rat face leaving :)

Oh and Greetings from South Africa :)

AVB = Ramos the second.

He will piss off the players and they wont want to play for him. You can get away with it at Porto but not at Spurs. I hope to god I'm wrong.

Ever tried smiling? :D Your post proves my point. I highly doubt you're the only person who knows his past, and I highly doubt DL and Co don't either, and in my opinion the players themselves know more than anyone and have been consulted before DL made the approach to AVB thus avoiding your scenario. DL wouldn't bring in a manager if he thought those kind of petty problems would arise.

I do wish people would stop calling Modric "rat face". He's still a spurs player and has been the best player to wear a spurs shirt since Ginola left. He has NEVER said he was spurs through and through so why we should feel betrayed that he wants to go to RM or play in the Champions League is beyond me.

He has given his all when he has played and guided us to our best ever premier league finishes since he joined the club. The only times he has looked less than perfect is after recovering from breakling his leg and towards the end of the season when he suffered from being a virtual ever present and our only creative spark in CM.

I know he agitated for a move last year but he never went on strike and got on with it despite his obvious frustration with Levy. He won't be remembered as a club Legend because of it but I don't think he wanted it either.

Insulting him is churlish and beneath us. Please stop.
