Hasn't potl who's mates with the player already rubbished the Lennon stuff? And doesn't that cast aspersions on the info overall?

I disagree, If we manage to get a upgrade on him, I don't mind him going because his best asset use to be his ability to take on players but since his groin injury he seems reluctant to do this and now runs behind, his groin injury has taken alot of confidence out of him imo

I hate to say so and hope this doesn't go doown as ITK bashing, but ever since it was revealed that The Goat is merely a veil for anyone who doesn't want their identity to be know to post itk under, I have lost a lot of faith in the info provided.

Initially it seemed The Goat was one poster who had a good reason for not wanting to be revealed and initially the info provided was very accurate. Can't think of much which has come through that medium recently though, then again that could be said for a lot of itk over recent windows.

But in the Lpool case it would be strengthening a rival in an area they very much need strengthening

It depends on what he is upgraded with?

He would improve Liverpool no doubt but would you complain if we got $20 mill and with that we brought in an overseas player that is a more complete winger? (not ITK btw)

If AL could cross properly, take on players more frequently and use his electric pace better he would be an absolute world beater. That i'm sure of.

Will he ever get there as he has been on the scene for over 5 years now?

I'm sure there is much soul searching going on at the club and they will be aware about the fans potential reactions, so they will need to have his replacement agreed and sexed up in the press before letting him go.

What ever happened to 'not doing cryptic" as per A&C Roundups ?

how can the goat, posting the players names possibly reveal source, when its a blind for many 'itk' posters. hard to swallow that it needed to be cryptic, especially when 2 have been mentioned before...

and if by blue and yellow = wanting 2 players, how are 4 names then cryptically mentioned? so all 4 have blue and yellow "ties"?

perhaps the goat might like to read A&C round up, and forget cryptic....its easy to just say something like, "the goat has also heard that we are sniffing around player x and y" (those 2 already known about).

and "there is perhaps something in the wind, (insert fart joke here) that we might try to tempt...player A and B (new names) don't be surprised if it is 2, as it looks like perm any 2 from 4." "oh and don't forget the salt, as me being a goat, i could have been fed garbage"

Lennon's suffered in part due to the inability of any of our strikers to get on the end of a cross.

Lennon and to a lesser extent Bale has been chastised this season for a lack of assists - but last season he got 10 league assists and 3 goals (after missing 3-4 months), 08/09 he got 5 goals and 6 assists, 07/08 2 goals and 6 assists, and 06/07 3 goals and 8 assists.

Doesn't his paltry return of only 3 assists this season suggest the problem might also lie with out strikers?

Sure, Lennon's not had a great season by any means, but to sell him because he's had one blip is ridiculous. People who clearly don't watch football also accuse him of being a one-trick-pony and not having improved his delivery - despite huge evidence over the last two seasons that his crossing has improved massively and he now has the ability to effectively cut inside the full-back and use his left foot when needed - something he was almost totally incapable of doing effectively a couple of years back.

Spurs fans are such dicks sometimes. If he goes to Liverpool he will be a huge success and we will be a laughing stock for letting him go.

Whilst i agree with everything(except the bold bit) I actually think he has reached his full potential, in that i don't see him improving. I could see us letting him go, IF a suitable large offer came in. kind of happy to keep him, happy to sell if offer is good. eg, circa 20+

If liverpool made a bid of 25-30 million I would take it, I mean if Henderson is worth 20 million, a extra 5-10 million for a player who is 3 years older and has already made 173 apps in the PL and has made 19 england apps

Also the reason I feel he has been poor last season is because of his movement and positioning, since his groin injury he has suffered in confidence imo, he use to make brilliant runs and also take on players for fun, Now he does do either, he waits for the ball to get him before he makes the runs and instead of taking players on he cuts inside or passes the ball and runs behind the player

That said this season his delivery honestly has been improved alot, mostly down to him slowing down prior to kicking the ball, his left foot has been a delight to see and also he is good at tracking back

I like Lennon and think he can be electric at times but if you ask your mates who support Man U, Citeh, Arse and Chelsea if they would take him i would pre-empt their answers that they probably would say no.
Why is that?
We are at a massive crossroads too as a club, there is a massive effort under way to change the way we play(more continental, we are nearly there)and the players we are hoping to bring in will assist this and our push for the league and champions league next season. Unfortunately Lennon isnt that next level up we need to assist Modric Bale and VDV and the next uber strikers we bring in.He isnt the worse either as we have like Bentley and GDS that are behind him.
Now if we get rid of all the surplus players like Jenas, Keane etc that are hard to shift it will help balance the books and make us less hasty to get rid of one of our top 15 players. I'm sure there is no rush to get rid of Lennon but he is in demand so we could cash in and be in a much stronger position.
Sometimes there are sacrificial lambs and we are running a business too which we do tend to forget in all of this.

I guess the Lennon thing makes sense in terms of him being one of the players who we might be able to make some significant money on and Palacios is probably the other. I think both are very good players and certainly not the first names we would actively look to get rid of. But combined they could bring in £40m and I doubt any other combination of non-essential players could do that.

If that can help us to bring in more critical pieces of the puzzle that would have to be considered a step in the right direction.

I reckon Lennon could be in line for a good season, ended last season without an injury and has the opportunity of a full pre-season following a bit of rest, should do him the world of good.
