After just seeing the last thread here's a refreshed one.

It's taken me ten minutes to create this one as I attempt to word this one politely but still convey the dread consequences of a repeat of the complete bullshit that just went down.

I ask this politely in the spirit of trying to understand the forum and how it works:

what is the problem with people meandering off topic when there's little in the original topic to hold their attention ?

I could understand it perhaps if you thought some interesting conversation and sharing of information might get lost in the morass of OT bollox, but the isn't the reality that you only get OT bollox when the original topic isn't interesting enough to hold everyone's attention?

Might it not actually work better left to self-regulate? When people are talking about Phil Beal in an ITK thread, isn't it a pretty good indication that the ITK is not as gripping as it is at other times?

I think I'll start things off by re-posting the Gards snippet from about an hour ago:

Gareth Hagarty ‏@grafinoz 48m
@Gards44 any chance a CB will come in before the spammers game? dawson out and MS in before the 1st game?

@grafinoz trying

I sure hope that's the case. In my opinion probably the best development during the tour was that Veljkpvic could be a real option at CB this season. Even if just as a cups/Europa player, it's still valuable minutes that can allow for our league starters to get some rest.

Veljkovic? really? looked very poor last night imo, of course it's early days in the pre season and quite an intense program and travelling in between, but he looks a long way off PL games
For sure if we don't put him out on loan then try and get him some playing time in the Europa, but that looks about the sum of it at this stage for me unless injuries force our hand

Veljkovic is 18 so plenty of time to become a good player, he is at least 6ft, so not massive, but tall enough. I have seen him in a few Spurs XI matches and he seems very composed, and I remember there being talk he was touted as higher future potential than Caulker due to his passing ability. However in saying that I like the reports linking us to Stokes, who I think is going to be Beckenbauer esque! But an Everton friend of mine says he is like Martinez's surrogate son so going nowhere!

Really couldn't disagree more re: him being "very poor" last night. Made some strong challenges, was physical yet under control and read the game well. Very polished for a 19 year old.

And he's definitely taller than 5'11". Others who have met him while on the tour basically confirmed he was over 6'.

But, for the sake of not making this the Daily Veljkovic thread I'm going to leave it at that.

I think, therefore, spurs chat is the place for 'off topic' stuff; or player threads - I can assure u there's loads of off topic stuff in that thread in particular! The ITK thread is exactly that: discussion of ITK related news. This isn't me speaking from on high to you; it's just my comprehension of the different threads. Plus, the ITK thread gets blocked up with crap if any old topic is discussed...even,ironically, with ITK conversations!:hungover:

We've gone from "hard" CBs to "old" CBs and now we're discussing height. Might as well start a poll for cock lengths.............at least that's right up A&Cs street so hopefully this place will not get locked again :censored:
