Obviously not his fault, but there really haven't been enough 'dovahkiin' alerts popping up this window...
I know what you mean. The lack of notifications from @dovahkiin has forced me to break out Skyrim again.

And good info from Trix. Hopefully the clubs are on the same page as Barkley's people.

No chance. Everton want 50 million, I'm quite sure Levy isn't on that page.

Haven't the reports simply said Everton value him at £50mill? Might be just their normal valuation of him not accounting for the contract situation which roughly halves it.

(looks at A&C)

ITK hasn't suggested we're that far apart, has it?

He's worth exactly what someone is wiling to pay for him so it's in Evertons interest to try drum up more interest and peddle the story of Chelsea and Arsenal being in the mix to drive up the price.

Yes contract status is important but supply and demand is more so.

They might want £50m, but they will end up selling for quite a lot less imo.
Realistically they have to sell him this window, and everyone is aware of this so Everton aren't in a very strong position.

Plus it depends where he wants to go. If Citeh comes in he might end up there drawing lots of money and just sit on the bench.

I for one am fairly pleased with the transfer window.
We have held on to our team, minus Walker, hopefully that won't bite us.
If we were bidding for most of our players we as fans would be very excited.
Imagine going for Dele, Kane, Rose, Dembele to mention a few.
We have a (abiet small) terrific team, all a year older and wiser.
Think there will be additions but ones we want for a sensible price.
Good time to be a Spurs supporter at the moment .

I'm not sure we can be 'Pleased' with the window so far, because as things currently stand we're actually weaker than we were last season having lost Walker, while everyone else has strengthened.

Of course plenty of time until the window closes and I'm hopeful we can do some good business yet.

I'm all for positivity but being 'Pleased' might be a bit of a stretch as things stand.

I'm of the opinion that he'd be an excellent signing for us and I envisage him improving drastically under Poch. However, if he were to choose a city or a Chelsea, then I feel it's a bullet dodged as it'll show that playing and improving isn't his priority... I know this is a highly partisan comment, but, trying my best to view it objectively, he is only really going to get the game time and coaching investment at Spurs and perhaps the gooners (but I'd question him going there based on the non-development of oxlade-chamberlain, Walcott and the like...).

New signings don't necessarily mean strengthening. Any team that finishes the window with Ali, Kane, Hugo, toby, Jan, eriksen and dembele has to be happy with that business.

Exactly. It always annoys me when people say "other teams are strengthening" or something similar just because they're making signings. That isn't how it works. Signings can certainly give you a chance to get stronger but we don't know that they will be stronger for it. Team chemistry is so important and the more signings a team makes the more risk of upsetting that chemistry.

Also there's nothing to say we're not getting stronger with this squad either. We've hardly maxed out the potential of such a young team under a young ever improving manager. Maybe we already made signings over the years that will fulfill their potential this season. Especially with such an impressive academy now.

How anyone can't be happy with a team that has improved the way we have these past few years I'll never know. Being happy and excited for the season doesn't mean to say everything is perfect and we can't improve. It just means being fully supportive about the players we already have rather than obsessing over signing new ones. Loyalty works both ways.

Come on Jody, surely we've moved on from the days when we were slapping ourselves on the back for not selling all of our best players?! If, as seems to be the case, Barkley and a replacement right back are the players our manager feels are required to strengthen the squad, I for one hope he gets them. I think that would represent success at the end of this window. Potential deals still seem to be very much in the pipeline, so finders crossed Poch will get wants he wants mate.

We also need another pacey wide player imo

True, but if the rest of your squad lags too far behind or has gaping holes in it, you'll still end up with nothing.
Our squad needs more strength in depth. And we can't fill every hole with academy players. So for us to strengthen definitely means spending money on new signings

We've moved on from claiming that half a dozen new players is improving the team, when it disrupts the chemistry of the team and players take time to settle.

So actually, keeping the majority of the team together is as much an opportunity to improve as buying new players. Of course we want signings but they don't necessarily strengthen the team (Sissoko).

I think, if he is being advised properly, he will come to us. He thinks MoPo will improve him, he wants to get back into the England team, and he has friends here.

Wouldn't worry, just posturing. It's our reaction to the recent stores that's all. ITK has been very clear on us wanting him, if it wasn't doable it wouldn't have got this far.

@Cornpattbuck . Why are you so opposed to Pochetinno getting Barkley and a replacement right back, if, - as the vast majority of our ITKs are suggesting, - they are the players he wants? Why is that so outrageous to you? Anything constructive to add to the discussion mate?
