Sigurdsson?

I.e. we'll go down the two #10s (Rafa and the Sig) and two #9s (Ade and young Ade) route.

Defoe's not a Adkins type player though.

Why do you keep saying Sigurdsson will be a No.10 ? If AVB is as nailed on as we are led to believe then we won't be playing with a number 10 type, and even if we did Sigurdsson isn't as good as VDV. Unless we are selling VDV (which JJ has said unlikely) and if the ITK about us offering Sigurdsson a big deal to come to us - meaning we see him as a starter - and we believe AVB is the new man, chances are he'll be playing in the middle row - the kind of Ramires role - I would have thought.

Are you the only cynical spurs fan left?? I take it you havent read the last 30 pages...?? This is no place for cynisism, this is a place where dreams are made and shatteder in equal measure, where the lives of the ITK need are fullfilled and the fan of the great Tottenham Hotspur comes to rest his weary head amongst friends, even friends who carry mechanical vadges and such stuff. This is the place where we gather and converse and share are thoughts and feelings and for the lucky few, the knowledge of future activity within our wonder club. This is the place where our beloved spurs is worshipped more than any other in the land... There is no place for cynisism, this is a place for glory and tales of 61, this is a place of blind expectation and of hope... This is a place where the true supporter shouts from the roof tops 'COME ON YOU SPURS'!!!!!!!!!!!
Was it just me or did anyone else hear a Choir humming in the background whilst reading this?

Would be fantastic if we managed to shift so much deadwood, but doubt we manage to offload to many on permanent basis.
Seems like we go through this every summer, and at the end off the day we manage to loan out a few.

Kranjcar and Corluka where the easy ones, as they where decent enough, but suspect we have to many on to high wages to move as easy.

Thank God we're not Pool though, they have the same issue also, just 3 times the wages and apply to most their squad;)

would love to see if JJ has any info on Nuri Sahin and put us out of our misery because the more i think of nuri at spurs the more it gets me excited .. seen him play many times in the bundesliga .. and was amazing .. has everything in his locker ..

my honest opinion is two options that he aint keen on a permanent move and maybe would sign on loan (view to a perm) .. or does not want to leave at all .. praying its the first option

Edmonton on COYS just replied to the Ryan_THFC laundry list with simply "stadium dates are wrong"

I assume it's a genius piece of dry understatement, or possibly that was the only piece that he was privy enough to comment on (since he is mainly ITK on the stadium stuff).

Agree with you on Sahin, think he would be great.

Shame we havent really had any ITK on him, just some weak paper talk:(

I live in Southampton, and was recently told that they were getting Defoe, and that he'd bought a house down this way. I'm not sure how Southampton ITK the guy I spoke to was, but I couldn't see Defoe going unless we had replacements lined up.

Harry marginalised Defoe, amazing all those who'd bought into the belief that JD was Harry's love-child.

He's useful, and last season, just for once, lived up to his billing of 'our most clinical striker'. But I simply don't see how he'd fit into any system but a 4-4-2 as a starter, and 4-4-2 ain't going to happen next season. He's proved himself highly effective as an impact striker coming on as a sub (despite the bollocks we used to hear from the JDFC a few years ago that he needed a run of games) but I honestly can't see him being happy in that role.

So, farewell then, JD.

Eny fule kno that.

The supermarket will start this summer, but we're looking at another year for the actual stadium.

Ok, they'll be the most advanced of the midfield trio, which will be slightly different from last season because it will be behind Bale and Lennon.

Agree that the Sig will understudy Rafa though (maybe getting game time out right instead)

I've trawled through the majority of the posts in this thread but have seen nothing about the new Coaching Team I assume will be appointed alongside AVB. Has anybody any clues who they might be or how many?

Did AVB take any coaches from Porto to Chelsea with him? Will be interesting to see who joins. Tim Sherwood as Asst Manager anyone? (thats if the Director of Football stuff is bull). Seems like we're keeping on Les, Sherwood etc Will be good to have a blend of new and old coaches. Who knows though. Maybe we'll see the release of them from their contracts and AVB will want wholesale changes.
