Welcome to the Thursday Discussion Thread and boy do we have plenty for you today! Yesterday I went to the supermarket I saw this really fat woman at the self service checkout. It said 'unexpected item in the bagging area'..............Salad

I'm going to ease into it, as the Vicar said to the choirboy, with yesterdays early ITK from agnes on FTL

Topic: Siphiwe Tshabalala (Shabba)
Have been told we had a few 'agent' talks with Shabba while in South Africa.
All has gone quite now, but it seems Harry was looking at him as a VDV replacement (when vdv is injured or knackered). I thought he was more of a left midfielder ala bale?
Tshabalala? Gusundheit.

The above propted this from PTOL
POTL said:
What a classy guy. Don't stop reading, this is about to get interesting.

The Goat, as promised then gave a solution to a Cryptic
The Goat said:
Fair play to The Goat.

Meanwhile on COYS, the solution to the cryptic prompted much debate...........
COYSER 1 said:
Are you kidding me?
If the point is to ensure that it won't ever be solved, that's the way to go. Fairly random degrees of separation there.
Why not just say we're in early negotiations with a player, but it's too sensitive to say more?
Erm......Blue & Yellow? Ahhh I forgot. You're not allowed to even question POTL over there. If you do, you'll be banned.
COYSER 2 said:
If thats how it works im pretty sure, you could link any player in the world with any clue ever..
Yeah, like Blue and fucking Yellow. But you're not allowed to say that are you?

You gotta love the double standards over there. Raise an eyebrow three millimeteres at POTL and you're banned, but it's open season on other ITK's. Quality.

Back to the eyeteekay...........
This weeks no shit sherlock went to Noodles, when he posted this on Aguero

I have a close connection with someone high up at Rangers and spoke to him for the first time in ages today. He tells me that we were trying to get them to agree to become a feeder club and Rangers were quite happy with the theory, but didn't want to be referred to as a feeder club and they also wanted Bentley and Hutton on loan for the season.

We said no as we wanted them to outright purchase both players. Apparently, this was the deal breaker. Price quoted for outright purchase was "mental", so all gone quiet again.

After last nights result against Malmo, I doubt Rangers have two pennies to rub together now anyway.
Meh.

Then...........

Vucinic deal still on however his agent is trying to get him the best deal he can financially...No way will he end up at UTD..And like i said a few weeks ago Diarra is our top CM target to replace Wilson and we are still working on it but it is not done...
More Meh.

And so it went on..........

Heard the Roma chap doesnt fancy us. Holding out for a deal to be struck with Juve instead.
I've just got to the stage where I want the window closed now.

Then peanut spoke up about Leandro

Think we will go back in for him now. Doubt it will happen as same issues exist as before (mainly that Inter want to keep him until Jan & want an awful lot of money). We would have to gamble and pay over the odds for potential.
Meh. It just doesn't excite me. Leandro, Vucinic........I want erm, I dunno

adebayor deal higly unlikely,to fit in with our wage structure city would still have to contribute 100k a wk towards his wages ,loan deal currently dont work
hutton to villa has legs, barcodes do want jd he is not keen to go there though,we are as ever struggling to shift our deadwood
lucas now blaming his agent for his behaviour this summer saying he was badly advised either way hes going nowhere

if harry goes down dl likes anceloti a lot, anceloti currently on season long gardening leave from chels,he was paid 6 million to go on gardening leave thus we would need to compensate him

as ever we want to get rid of a few and dl will be more happy re purchases
You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby right round round round. Too much to contemplate.

Finally, wish me luck because i've entered the national arse licking contest but I can't see me doing very well.

I'm not exactly rimming with confidence at the moment.

Patience grasshopper the way of Levy is not an easy path nor is it straight and may even seem as if you have reached zen but no not yet, for enlightenment is still a few weeks away...

Hopefully tomorrow is Farewell Friday for some of our deadwood and a Fapping Friday for a shiny striker or two.

Thanks for the roundup A&C, much better than having to skim 50+ pages for a few snippets.

I think we may have over played our hand a bit. By saying we're not getting anyone in until we've sold means that our players can pick and choose knowing that if they don't find a deal that suits them, Harry will have no choice but to put them in the 25 and play them. If we went ahead and signed our targets then they will know that they are highly unlikely to play this year. U could bet your bottom dollar that they would be screamin at their agents to find them another club. By tryin to sell first, all the power lies with the deadwood as they have no realmincentive to leave. Get a couple of signings in and there will be a scramble for the door.

wow what a suprise....our rival refuses to help us out and give us a player for free and pay most of his wages....
And we are knocked back by a player already on 200,000 grand a week after we offer him 80,000,

you couldn't make it up..

Sadly, with the Vucinic stuff looking less certain I think we'll now have Crouch/Pav/Defoe upfront for the Everton game. Let's just hope they sort someone before the end of the window.

Who's left? Rossi looks doubtful. We've had a few articles link us with Llorrente or Negredo
Hernandez was hinted at by Storts/Ryan. But after that it gets really thin.s

I see there's nothing in the roundup from Yidio. Is that because he posted that he had no news, or has he not posted yet (since his pint with his source)?

But isn't Adebayor their dead wood? And just like us they will want a permanent deal, with a fee and all their wages paid, but come August 30th, when he's still hanging around the training ground they will have to make a call (as will we) about loans. We could clearly pay them a loan fee, on top of his wage, which will cover part of the difference without it being "wages", too.

They can afford to keep him, of course, but then we can afford to keep Keano.

It's gotta be Llorente. He is our only hope

I can't take reading through 50 pages of nothing anymore.

C'mon Daniel no pressure....

What was the answer to Storts Cryptic? Abel Hernandez? Explain please.

The guy from Barbados that claimed Mata had signed for Arsenal - was this backed up by anyone or a source?

Levy a right little cock if he messed up on the Rossi deal. Miserable little bastid when he wants to be. But he's doing it for the right reasons. Cant fault him too much over the years.

Again, woke up to 4 new pieces of ITK and was very disappointed none of them confirmed a striker signing for us.
