Morning all! Welcome to the last Tuesday of the Transfer Window!

New thread, plenty of ITK in the RO, crack on.

With the sale of Modric, SC has suddenly been gripped with new signing fever. I urge caution!

We have had stories before about how Levy is going to be busy. Whilst I do think there will be a new arrival or two, I also think that it REALLY wouldn't surprise me if there were not. Or if there are one or two nasty surprises in store. For example, did you know Owen Hargreaves, Michael Owen and Emile Heskey are free agents? Yeah that's right, that's got you shitting yourselves.

So by all means get excited. But temper that with a smidgin of sceptisism. That way if it goes well you'll be very happy, if not then it might save you from self harm.

That last piece of JJetset sounds like van der Vaart to Hamburg. I'd rather not, even if we were to bring in a Bundesliga player on the way home.

Busy few days, hope at the end of them we look to have a stronger squad than last season?

Good morning A&C.

This is the week! The week where the SC coffers swell. The week where Spurs make their move in the transfer market. The week, where THFC show the world they mean business.

It's Levy Time!

Morning A & C, happiness tempered with skepticism, no problem. Striker coming but Bentley still here ;)

anyone read Hertyid's info that two midfielder coming in, one up top from a few days ago? And also 4-5 to leave. A quick guesstimation would be:

IN
Dembele
Lloris
Willian

OUT
Jenas/Bentley included in fulham Dembele bid
Defoe
Hudd to Stoke
GDS

If it's just Dembele in that position I will be extremely disappointed.

I would consider a fantastic last week to be:

Lloris
Moutinho
M'Vila
Willian

Would consider a good window to be:

Lloris
1 of the midfielders above
Willian

I see loads of speculation today. The papers will be full of where our Modric money will be going. I don't see it happening today, in fact I think they will go to the wire, but I do see some decent signings in the offing. Very excited about this week.

If AVB gets his backing and the players to fit his system then he is going to be put under enormous pressure to produce the goods!

It's exciting but nervy at the same time

Not exactly itk but read in daily mail that Barcelona may loan Afellay for a season. Would be a great signing imo

Won't pretend to know much about the new 'Homegrown' laws but am I right in worrying about the shift in our squad...

If you look at some if the possible ins and outs-
Lloris
Dembele
Willian
Damaio

Jenas
Bentley
Dawson
Rose
Hudd

Appreciate it's all rumour and some will be loan deals but our starting 11 starts to look pretty light on homegrown players..

Like I say though- I don't really know the laws on this yet!!!!

Hugo Lloris – never in doubt, should be first through the door; there were only 2 clubs ever interested in him from day one. The other being AC Milan. The player did not want to go to Italy and Arsenal never made contact with his club. This info didn’t come from Tottenham source.
Like I said yesterday talking to lots of players and lots of things that complicate certain deals.
Moutinho is still number one choice and I expect a final day take it or leave it offer. This will delay other potential deals.
There are 5 clubs talking to Dembele. Three in England (including Spurs), one in France and one in Italy. Timing is the key because Martin Jol will not sell unless it’s sorted out soon.
M’Vila; simple battle of the North London clubs. Tottenham have offered more money. Two months ago if you’d have asked me I’d have said he is nailed on to be an Arsenal player. Again it will all depend on timing but now personal opinion is you have got it.
Willian; I could have and should have told you yesterday Levy’s opening offer but to be fair it was actually slightly lower than what I was told. Completely miles out on valuation and can tell you how baffled, annoyed and surprised the Shaktar board were. The player is in England but that means nothing. Talks on going but just got a feeling that this is the sort of deal where another club could come in quick and hijack the player.
Afellay; I can tell you Harry wanted him. I’ve not heard of any discussions this time round. But if it’s a loan deal like discussed last time it could be done quick.
Bojan; deal very complicated and I don’t know where he ranks but Tottenham made what can be described as polite enquiries last week.
To reiterate what I’ve said before Tottenham have been asked to be informed of any bids for Redmond. AVB is a fan.
I’m also led to believe that Tottenham are in talks with Benfica. The problem is I genuinely don’t know who about.
There are lots of clubs interested in your players including one club I know personally; I’come back later to tell what I know.

I was thinking exactly the same last week! I'm excited by all of the players we've been linked to but am worried by the lack of homegrown players... It wasn't too long ago that we used to criticise arsenal for fielding a team with no British players in it...I know we have a few who are regular starters and English/British but still... If Dawson, Defoe, Jenas and Huddleston all go we may be in trouble

Wrong thread really for this, but you have to remember the likes of Naughton and Caulker coming through the ranks add to this and we only need 7 players out of the 25 ;)

Cardozo would be ok, but he's a bit old for the sort of fee that Benfica would want, i reckon Bruno Cesar has the potential to be a good player and fits the striker/wide forward role we're looking for.
