Stoof stamp made a much needed appearance ytd, hope that there is a special "head coach #1 choice" stamp for MS

I get the feeling nothing's going to happen until deadline day. Daniel Levy has retired to his up-right standing coffin, awaiting the clock to strike the first hour of deadline day, when he will awake and rise like the dark lord of the night and walk blankly faced to the telephone in his office chambers in search of new blood.

I'll be really happy with us just signing MS. Hopefully that would give us the right mix. Maybe we'll add J-Rod & Moreno in January? But it doesn't stop us dreaming of a Levy special on Deadline Day Special. Maybe a loan from our partners in Madrid? Maybe somebody from France (PSG/Monaco)?

Good news about Jan. I get so fed up reading people on here saying he has a bad attitude or doesn't care about the club just because there were a few pictures of him not smiling.

So Morgan Schneiderlin aside, I think it's fair to say from JJ's latest that we dont' have clear indicators of who the other "ins" might be right now.

Clearly expect to see some players leave between now and Monday and would be delighted if just MS comes in but certainly open to the idea of more if the club can do the deals.

I took it that he doesn't want to say anything just yet because things are sensitive. We've seen a lot of that this transfer window. I'd imagine things are happening behind the scenes, probably in secret, which would lead me to believe we're sounding out agents and players themselves over the possibility of a move rather than clubs they play for.

In terms of JJ's latest I would say its the MS deal which is very sensitive...in terms of possible players involved/going the other way...albeit probably separate deals.

After the Fazio signing yesterday and JJ's confirmation that Jan has signed his new deal, I think we're in really good shape. MS would just be the icing on the cake for me. Loving the targeted approach to signings this summer and delighted with the ITK that harmony in the camp is really good. If that generates just 5% more effort from every player because they're happy, it could really make a difference. Anything from now on is just Gravy!!!

I'm not sure why the MS deal would be sensitive, everyone knows about this already. I would assume that JJ doesn't want the names we are talking to in addition to MS to get into the press, last thing we need is another Willian scenario occuring (although Eriksen was a far better signing that Willian, so that kinda worked out for us IMO).

I'd be surprised if we're in for another high profile signing.

The fact that Poch is going to wait till after window closes before deciding on a captain suggests he is confident of new arrivals, otherwise why wait before appointing one

I'm sure it all depends on the door marked 'Exit' unless something really big comes off.

A few players out may well mean a couple of players in. BUT, we really don't want to be overstocked. Until we have some sort of agreements for these departures we won't push any incomings through. Soon must be the time we are hearing further and negotiating imo. JJ said the next day or so. Here's hoping.

Strap in, or should I say strap on ;), for a bumpy ride?

Maybe the Jan contract hasn't been official because we're going to announce it at the same time we announce the new captain?
