Regarding the Paul Smith update: I'm having a really hard time believing this. How can we know things will get sorted when we return when we haven't even made a bid for the player? If he was close to leaving he would definately not have played the friendly. We see this all the time. I will be very surprised if he's a Tottenham player when the season starts, and I will not be very surprised if he's a West Brom player when the window closes.

Soldado's finishing is woefully atrocious in live games. It follows that it is just as bad in training.

Digger over at SO has posted a picture of Adebayor at Villa. I wouldn't dare take the photo but it seems pretty significant ITK if legit. Digger's never been ITK that I remember but neither is he a WUM. Maybe he has a friend at Villa? But I'm posting that there is a picture at SO of Adebayor checking out the Villa facilities. If you feel I should post this please erase and ban @jair1970.

It's in the Ade thread. As well as a few photoshopped ones. See if you can tell the original.

Ade would be out the door by then. We may have agreed with SB on wages etc. We also may have an indication from WBA on what figure they would do business on wrt a fee.

I've known Paul Smith a very long time via SO on and off. He never posts his ITK usually so must be very confident to put it on so nonchalamtly. Plus he is a top bloke so you know its in good faith.

Us and every other club in FIFA. We, and every other club out there, doubtless sound out things in that vast grey area of unofficial chats with chains of agents. None of it 'officially' sanctioned by the buying club, but just like Rebecca Brooks didn't officially sanction any phone tapping (chortle), somehow word of what a player might want and what a club might pay finds its way mysteriously to the right people. Plausible deniability.

The whole of football's at it, and we're not better/worse than the rest.

You cannot talk to a player but you can talk to their agent as much as you want.

Nothing stopping us from speaking to his "agent"/ representative though and sounding them out on his interest and wages etc.

Talksport had a brummie jurno on this evening and he said there has been zero contact, not even an enquiry to availability between us and WBA, he also said SB was still with his agent until October
