I don't agree with that at all. He hasn't tried been taking his rogue shots, in fact he almost never shoots anymore. If he was a pure glory-hunter, he'd still be firing those shots and would have a strut in his step, which is the exact opposite of reality. It's been said he's one of the hardest workers in training, so along with the axing of the shooting, I think it's evidence he's just trying to prove himself. I think he just simply wants to succeed at Spurs, which can easily be confused with a glory-hunter. A player with his obvious signs of lack of confidence doesn't have the mentality of a glory-hunter, he's just trying to succeed and establish himself. Doesn't help when he's at the tremendous disadvantage of having to prove himself against the club record signing, as he undoubtedly knows damn well he has to work all the harder.

Did you not see the Sidney game ?

He was blazing shots high and wide way before we bought Lamela.

I don't think it's confidence, he wouldn't step up to take penalties if he lacked it. And he's not an eager to pleaser either, if he was he'd work a damn sight harder to get the ball back when he loses it.

He's a glory hunter. And unfortunately he's not quite got the right ammo for the job.

Lol oh buddy, if everyone who stepped up to took penalty kicks actually had confidence, the game would be very different. Happens all the time in which players step up, grab the ball, and act as if confident in their attempts to suppress the nervousness, and it's very much with an underlying intention. In fact, this psychological defense mechanism is known as "reaction formation," and is very common. Absolutely cannot assume that because someone does something like that that they're assuredly confident.

Exactly, he did take shots all the time. But again, that leads to nothing discerning between a glory-hunter or just trying to make an impact. Going out on nine loans are not contributory to someone who has the confidence to be a glory-hunter, but is extremely contributory to someone just trying to prove in his own mind that he can even make it.

Many of the recent posts have focussed on what poor players or character we have in Walker, Rose and Townsend.

Is this the normal practice of Spurs 'fans' in supporting their Club and players - or is everyone just feeling out-of-sorts?

Every time Rose has been interviewed he's spoken incredibly highly of Poch and indicated that he wouldn't have improved as much as he did if it wasn't for the manager, to the point where he's even gone out of his way to mention the influence Poch had had on him. It seems like they have a really good relationship, so for that reason I can't see him leaving.

i dont want to buy the rose rumour but hes surely available for silly money and wouldnt think twice if it meant job sharing with say clichy or kolorov for a double your wage deal. actually id take either in part ex. id also take any other creative exchanges featuring jovetic or dzeko with us reducing the rose fee and them subsidising wages.

20m? 17m? for that kind of money hes not on my list of must not lose players.

but id love him to stay and fight for our cause if we dont receive such an offer.

If we sell Rose, it better be for something stupid. Like, people Wikipedia 10 years from now will have a good laugh that we got liked 25m for him or some shit. It's not like Davies is bad and I expect him to keep challenging Rose, so we wouldn't be too bad off if we sell. That said, I'm really impressed with how much Rose has turned it around. He went from being an absolute liability to being one of the more consistent players in the side, so I definitely hope we keep him.

I thought a Spurs message board was a place where Spurs fans could exchange opinions, both good and bad, about players, coaches, the club etc etc. You seem to be suggesting we should only have nice things to say even if we think a player is playing badly or is of limited ability. SC is going to be a very boring place if we can't say how we really feel about a player, a coach, the club etc.

Mate, the current squad isn't good enough. You can't honestly think after watching last season that our problems will be solved with Pritchard, one new striker and Wimmer.

I know it doesn't, but we have too many midfield players. The funny thing is when we buy someone potentially good they turn out totally opposite of expectation like Paulinho, Capoue, Holtby, Dembele.... Not sure if it's the player, the system or we are cursed.... Lol

Lack of movment, forward passing accuracy comes to my mind. When we are in the 2nd half, the players opt to pass slightly behind the forward foot which force the receiving player to retreat instead of passing it to someone in front. That's my observation.

We need to sell many mid fielders before we add IMO, a congested squad with too many rotation will affect consistencies and understanding.

I remember we had this Rose rumour once before - Walker telling people in a nightclub that he was moving to Chelsea.

Our scouts must have searched high and low to find a defender who plays in a defence that conceded more than ours.

None of the QPR lads available?
