Gibbo,

He has been offered to all the clubs over the last 2 months.

There is a price tag and its hefty because Villa have 30% of his sell on fee. This time last year we baulked at half of what his currently being offered at and went for Gallas.
I think thats a thumbs up for Daniel though in reality he didnt really want Gallas either!!

Yes we amongst others are looking at him and he would like to come to us. Its all about doing the right deal for all concerned whether its us or any club!
Ambiguous enough...........

Any idea how much Bolton are looking to cash him in for?

Hi Rebrab,

Marin doesnt want to leave Germany at all and is very similar to how Luka used to be a few years ago when he wasnt interested in the money.

 would explain where that one went wrong then

Cheers. ive had enough now, bed time. hopefully the ghost of past transfer windows will visit levy tonight and he will have a change of heart and sign Rossi and marin by lunchtime.:duh:

Not to mention the ghost of windows yet to come in which we re-sign a veteran O'Hara for £50m to avoid relegation.

I feel encouraged by RMs round up, sounds like we're pushing on tomorrow, hopefully a striker is on the radar too.

That's a more interesting answer than the actual amount. Cheers

Hi all, new poster on here.

JJ, any idea whether a player going the other way on loan is still likely in the Parker deal? Can't imagine 'Arry would be too happy to see Livermore shipped off to the Championship just as he's becoming a first team player, doubt it would make Jake too happy either!

As Arsenal's £6m bid received a two-word answer, it's safe to assume that Bolton are looking for at least twice that.

Discussion as to whether Cahill is actually worth £12m+ should go in the player thread. Contributions from those who have actually seen more of him than MOTD allows would be especially welcome.

So say we were bidding an agreeable figure, Bolton wouldn't be letting other clubs know this sum themselves in the hope of starting a bidding war?

I thought that I heard a figure nearer 18m for Bolton's initial price for Cahill.

Dan, I've not heard anything bad about Parker's character, that I can recall at least - can you enlighten me as to why you regard him to be "a prick"?
I've always held him in quite high regard, as a player.

Little bit more from Roger Morgan on so:

Hargreaves is true, we're probably his best offer so far.
Nothing on Modric.
Palacios to Stoke for £7m tomorrow. Yes seven, though there may be add-ons.

Every deal is different just like buying a house.
It depends on if their initial asking price is met and then they decide thats it or if they want to get into a dutch auction?

A caveat though as football deals are different to any other in the normal world of business!

Hargreaves? Please let that not be true!
If that's where we're setting our sights, I really am beginning to get concerned.
Don't get me wrong, he WAS a great player but...seriously?
Since when did when go from Harrods to bloody Lidl's?

Are we seriously considering bargain basement ways as a way of regaining CL status?....sorry, a lot of question marks but sweet Jebus....!

Is there a frowning, head shaking, tutting smiley?

I would not be adverse to Hargreaves. If he is fit he will be busting to prove himself and lets face it we need some of that ATM.

he was always a high energy player, great dead ball specialist and can play a couple of positions; can do a job RW & RB (as you can never have too many of those...)

When fit Ledley is the best cb in the prem but unfortunately that doesn't help as much as it's very rarely the case. Same with Hargreaves...all good saying he's good when fit but when is he ever gonna be fit enough to play in the epl consistently

If we got him on a pay as you play deal there'd be no harm done, except we have too many players for a 25-man squad already.
