If we have signed him, he's a relatively cheap prospect that will probably be loaned out this year, a million pound gamble on his future. He's not even a regular for his team in the Mexican league, not one of the two strikers were looking to buy to start for us this season.

No, but are we going to buy 2 to start the season with? Personally I hope we replace the entire strikeforce (that doesnt include VDV btw)

Looking at what we've heard, Pav will probably be sold, Keane will be given away to anyone dumb enough to take him (sorry Robbie, you were great but 'pool completely finished you old boy), Defoe and Crouch will probably still be here. I expect Leandro to sign because we basically own his club and 1 marquee striker signing - potentially Rossi (my gut feeling) but could be Adebyoor/Forlan/Drogba. Due to our desperate need in this area and player availability I also expect this signing to be more of a statement than someone that actually fits our style of play (ala VDV) hence Rossi rather than the Drogba/Adebyoor that we need.

If Pedroza comes in I doubt we will see much of him for a year at least, Leandro I know nothing about, but at a guess he will prob start to get games after xmas (like Sandro), so Defoe and Crouch will prob play until their understudies overtake them

No, there is nothing generic about the cryptic. It's just bloody hard - well, two or three of them were. We'll reveal who they are later in the window once - as COYS points out - it won't affect a) someone's job, and b) the chances of us getting info from the source again.

And, as Rob and A&C have commented, it's amazing how superbly many posters have 'solved' the clues. Lots of answers given are not only plausible but seem like they have to be right. But they're not.

In that way, cryptic clues are a pain in the arse. But I think 99% of people have enjoyed them in the spirit that they are intended and remembered that these are only rumours (like all ITK) at the end of the day. Nothing is guaranteed to happen.

So do the mods know for a fact which 4 players the cryptics were referring to, and that will be released at a later date? Because that would be interesting just so we can see who guessed right/wrong. Not trying to bash the ITK's because I genuinely appreciate the info and enjoy guessing about it as much as anyone, but it just seems SO vague that it's almost useless to release the info. No one can guess with any degree of certainty.

think so, he looked very quick, you can look at them yourself, a lot of the highlights are on youtube. But it is always very hard to tell on just snippits. Looks quicker then, say, Hernandez.

Also although he is listed as being 5ft 8 1/2 in he looks smaller, maybe its because he has a slight build, or simply that the team shirt he wears is baggy.

Same height as our beloved Jimmy Greaves. Will he score half the goals Jimmy bagged for us?

Has it been confirmed that the "Swans" clue links to Leandro?

Surely Landore (where the Swansea stadium is located) = Leandro is a perfect fit. If it isn't that it is one hell of a coincidence.

Just watched a clip of this pedroza and the commentators are all over him and comparing him to Owen and saying the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are interested. Don't know about the last bit as an agent will get a young player trials quite easily without clubs being interested. However I can see the comparisons to Owen. He looks quick and direct, not really clear from YouTube what else he has though
