Dammit I leave this place for four hours and come back to see “Lleaving”.

First instinct was panic at my beloved Hugo being ‘Llured’ to Pairs but fortunately you beautiful people reminded me that he’s not our only player with a “Ll” surname.

Loved the idea of Llorente when we signed him but have to admit that it hasn’t worked for him. I am excited that this could mean a signing is close as I’d imagine we wouldn’t be selling him unless we’d tied up a replacement.

Honestly if we are gonna shift Llorente, now makes the most sense. Transfer fees generally high than usual in Jan in addition he’s only gonna get cheaper from here on out with his age. Unless he decides to bag 15 goals the second half of the season.

God once again shaping up to be a rollercoaster deadline day.

We havent really had a strong link to a striker or any previous Itk suggesting we are looking. With Hercs latest post, sounds like we have moved quickly. It would be better for us to have him if we dont have a replacement in mind. So have to assume we are progressing something. And perhaps this is in addition to Moura and the other one mentioned by Herc?

Because he has been a huge contributor to our season so far? Other than the Madrid game, he has proven to be completely inadequate player for us, and that's coming from someone who was sticking up for him at the beginning. If he hadn't been playing for us we'd be no different. Moura allows us to be more flexible in an attacking sense. More dynamism and more pace. We could easily play Moura - Son - Alli in the absence of Kane. Whilst that extra coin can go towards Malcom or a CM.
Hard to disagree with anything of that, I am pessimistic and a life long Spurs fan - a bad combination, I fear us ending up attacking options light, I dream of the days when we had Teddy & Jurgen or Robbie, Kanoute , Defoe and Midp all at the same time.. All the same I would not trade Harry Kane for any of them or all of them.

Or unless they think son could do better than llorente and with the signing of moura (and return of lamela) giving everyone enough gametime to keep them happy might be hard.

True.. but it puts pressure on Lucas to come straight in and deliver though. And s Lamela going to score 7 or more by the end of the season?
I assume you’re too young to remember the glorious summer Levy sold Berbatov and Keane and brought Frazier Campbell in on loan to replace them?

Young but I remember.. I like to think we’ve moved on from those days

One bleat and this place has gone mad.

Re: Llorente, always liked the signing but it's clearly not worked out at all. Zero interest in playing to his strengths when he plays. Shame.

Bilbao for a profit would be ideal. Chelsea wouldn't sit right unless we sabotaged Arsenal in the process.

Either way hope we have someone else lined up.

Llorente out and Rodriguez in makes sense with Moura going into the CL squad. However, WBA would be nuts to rely on Sturridge staying fit IMO.

But we have, I believe, had a few statements from Poch/Levy/ITK saying we would be ready to move if the right player suddenly became available at the right price?

Bilbao have the unwritten rule of only signing players from the Basque Country. Would make sense for them trying to get Llorente home. Not many Basque strikers out there and they just received a big chunk of money when selling Laporte.

Llorente is 32 and we will not have many chances to sell him for anything later. But I believe we would truly need a new second striker.

they have signed players outside of Spain

Well Giroud would strengthen them more so why would they go for Llorente?

Previously worked with Conte, and Morata for that too, so could be seen as a mentor to help him adjust.
Realistically, can't see us helping Chelsea though, unless we know we are strengthening ourselves even more. Batshuayi, would make sense on paper, but just do not see it happening.
Don't think it'll be an out and out striker to replace Llorente if he does go, more likely someone who can play wide or up top like Son, get maximum use rather than a just a permanent bench based Kane standby.
ITK sounds like we are being very proactive though, making considered changes with the bigger picture in mind. COYS.
