hertyid last night: Spoke to someone at the club tonight. They said they had asked Levy and Poch directly about Dier (for marketing purposes) and told he is going nowhere.

I won't put this into the Read Only as he's said this at least twice as have one or two others, but the consistency is reassuring

Whatever going nowhere means.
What is the point of your post?

Is it to fan the flames of controversy? Incite a meltdown?

Besides the fact that this phrase is subject to at least 2 reinterpretations as the message is passed along, your post adds nothing to a genuine discussion.

I know it's quiet and we're bored, but this is a really disappointing post from you.

From Wikipedia:

"Nowhere is a shithole, called Manchester by some"

He is going then:(

i am very patient man when it comes to transfer windows as a rule but this one is a joke. We are being left behind.
We must have had our targets this summer surely? Is it the case that we have been shocked at the prices this summer which meant all our targets have become unattainable?

Me too. One of the factors in this sense of frustration is that we banked some hefty cash for Walker a couple of weeks ago and haven't reinvested yet. Being sensible in the market is one thing, but prolonging spending until preseason is all but finished is another. GNK and Sissoko, possibly even Janssen, really haven't strengthened us and while Poch is evidently a fantastic coach, our main rivals now recognise this and are strengthening significantly to counter this. Barkley is likely on his way to us, but we clearly need a quality RB that offers something different to Trippier and some pace AND quality in AM. This also needs to happen soon with Son out for some time. Two years of CL qualification doesn't just bring in extra revenue, it also enhances expectations and that's why we're becoming more frustrated by the day- I can't cope with another Sissoko last minute type of signing. The margins are even tighter this year. I still have hope though

Are all our rivals really leaving us behind though? Chelsea have signed replacements for Costa, Matic, Terry and Begovic. United have signed a replacement for Ibra and a very good central defender. Liverpool have signed Salah who looks good and Robertson who wouldn't make our bench. Arsenal have signed a defender and a forward who is probably a replacement for Sanchez or Giroud. City are the exception, but they're just operating on another financial level to every other club in Europe, probably the world. We need to sign a couple of players and nearly all of the ITK we've had points to us doing that, we just need to keep being patient.

I get the impression that we have set out our targets and have probably made initial enquiries and asked to be kept informed. We are waiting until the big spenders/payers have spent their cash so that their squads are full and they won't come and gazump us when we make our move. If this is the case this does still seem a strategy with a degree of risk but the club hopefully has less of a Willian-type situation. I don't like the fact that any new players miss a Poch pre-season.

Maybe left behind is the wrong term. But we have the chance to add some quality and actually win the title for the first time in the living memory of many of us.

I wonder what, in Levy's mind, the financial implications, pros and cons, of winning the league would be?
