Not really

We’ve been working on the potential GLC and Sess deals already, so i’d Imagine that things outdoor move very quickly once the financials are agreed between the clubs.

Deals for Toby and Eriksen can be done after the transfer window closes, so no real rush there.

Never been fully convinced we’ve been after Dybala.

I think JJ confirmed we were interested in Dybala.....Probably dependant on Eriksen leaving, or maybe just too rich for us, or maybe he just preferred Utd. It amuses me that people think Utd aren't a big draw, yes no CL and transitional period but still arguably the biggest club in the world.

Yeh Poch is pissed. What’s new there?

I am not defending DL, but we are embarking on another close to 100m spend. Not small money FFS. I still expect two signings, that includes GLC. Sess, problem is the fanny tosh lot at Fulham, valuing him at 40m. And expect us to thrown in Josh, and pay a substantial amount.

A manager is not always going to get all his way. Fergie & Maureen will vouch for that.

Now if the TW closes, and we don’t achieve our targets. You know who to blame. And I do not expect anyone to defend Daniel Levy.

For what it’s worth, I am calm.
Thanks for the info Herc as always. The problem is poch being letdown quite few times and this might be a catalyst for him to think about other opportunities.

If we are not "awashed in money" like Herc says, I think losing Toby and possibly Eriksen on free transfers next year is a huge deal. If Foyth stays at RB, then Sanchez is your only CB next year under 33. Rose is almost 30 (maybe Sess can replace). Sissoko is turning 30 in a few weeks.

If we spend over 100mil net on Ndombele, GLC and Sessegnon yet you're disappointed, then that's your fault, not the clubs.
It’s not the money spent or amount of players bought that defines whether I’d be disappointed though... it’s whether or not we address glaring issues in our squad. Ndombele did that, I’m not convinced we will improve our other weak areas however...

City are already adding to an almost perfect squad, and if Sane goes they will replace him
Liverpool did all their buying last summer and closed the gap to a point on City and won the UCL. Also they only need depth which they bought this summer
Chelsea can’t buy anyone yet have the same amount of signing this year as us lol
United are a mess and are in a complete rebuilding stage. Will take them 2 to 3 transfer windows
Arsenal who we’ve been told don’t have a pot to piss in, have just smashed their transfer record for Pepe.

Fuck me stop comparing our scenario to any other clubs

I agree. It’s not about what other clubs are doing. It comes down to how ambitious we want to be. The information we are getting indicates that the club is not prepared to be as ambitious as most of the fans want. Most importantly it seems like it doesn’t match up with the ambitions of the coaching staff, and probably our best players.

I can't remember @dovahkiin if we've been posting Blaino on FTL's stuff here, but he's just said...

Twice agreed a fee re Lo Celso, twice RB have moved the goalposts. They're very much playing silly buggers.

In terms of players out, we can't physically kick them out the door and at the moment nobody wants players on the decline and those players want to be at top clubs.

Sessegnon - lord knows what's going on with that now. He'd said his goodbyes etc.

Followed by
They need to sell as they admit and our deadline is in 9 days and their player has agreed to sign for us. What’s the issue. It’s their problem now. We had a deal.

thanks for the info, won't stop those blaming the club though

i Just want our JJ back...I don’t like it when he is this quiet!
Edit: everyone knows about GLC and Sess yet JJ hasn’t really commented...it’s not as if it would put the deal at jeopardy. I reckon there’s a shit storm brewing and he’s keeping quiet until it’s safe to talk about it!

Thanks for sharing.

How is it possible to be shocked at how this window seems to be turning sour yet not at all surprised at the same time. Just praying for a positive outcome, 9 days to go.

It’s the same every year thiugh, starts positive and then descends into chaos, but then people who make the point are accused of being bedwetters etc

Problem is even if we get the 2 targets Herc alludes to, this window will still feel like a disappointment. I understand that we shouldn't be paying well over the odds for Sess and GLC, but the time this is taking and the 0 movement on some of our deadwood is nothing short of embarrassing imo.
Just feels like another Spurs window and that actually hurts me. I thought we'd changed given our start to the window. My fault for believing I guess.

And this seems to be quite a widely held view, which seems a bit odd to me. ITK has been very very consistent in who our targets are and are still confident in signing them. If you read all the ITK on here (search by name - it will chill you out a bit!) none of them have said any of the 3 targets are unlikely to occur and nor has JJ. Maybe the last two arrive, maybe not, but I don't get the reaction on here at this point.

If we end up with GLC, Ndombele, Sess, having broken our transfer record, keeping Toby and Eriksen, that is very strong business. i cant see how anyone would have been disappointed with that at the start of the window.

The closest sources most of us have to the club are saying this is the likely outcome (having already completed the #1 priority with a record signing (how good was he today btw) ) and they are saying it repeatedly (as in many times a day in some cases). I don't recall that being the case in previous windows.

The frenzy seems to be based on impatience and being drawn into the cluckbait (case in point see some of the reactions on here re the quoted Poch comments. Then watch the actual press conference video)

I'd be disappointed because of the time it would have taken, the lack of deadwood sales, the frustration Pochettino clearly has. Also we're still no clearer on Eriksen/Toby contracts. I see that Herc is calm on getting in those 2 targets, and at the start of the window if you offered me that for a window I'd probably have taken it. But again, I'd be disappointed.

I did say it was my fault for believing our window would be different in my original post.

Oh ye of very little faith

You brittle ma fekkers

I am fully convinced, and believe we WILL bring in our targets (2). My nads are fine-just:censored:

But that’s concerning in itself? 2 targets!? What about a replacement to Llorente? What about a replacement for Trippier?

It’s a utter shambles. Fulham have every right to ask £40m for Sessegnon. We have known the price for almost 18 months. Why is that a surprise with 9 days to go. When a Bristol city centre back is moving for £20m, then we need to accept the market. Or perhaps that’s where we should be shopping.

Poch asked the club to change how it operates and he's been ignored. I honestly thought poch had forced levy's hand but clear now he will not change

I trust the ITK. You can see why this is taking so long. Can Sess start negotiating in Jan? That may be a risk we want to avoid by signing him now. So he doesn’t come on to the market as a free agent. However 40m seems high for a player in his last 12 months. Remains to be seen if anyone else wants to take a punt. Personally i’d walk away.

Thanks once again Herc. Not knowing what you know, I'm going to choose to be slightly skeptical but hopeful through all this. Poch is what counts most. We made it to the finals with a knackered team. We strengthened with the newest acquisition, all the players have another year under their belt in the poch system, and a preliminary look at the youth suggest that the training has improved a few of them to the point that our bench is probably stronger this year over last. We were too thin last year and are still a bit thin But it seems to me that today it's not the day for doom and gloom. Maybe next week but not today. I don't think the moment that we are fighting for 1st or 2nd place unfortunately but the 3rd and 4th spot should be very achievable with this team. If we pick up 2 or 3 bonafide contributors, perhaps we could be vying for the League.

That's the issue. We are so close to competing for the League that DL needs to back him. I'm expecting him to do it late but we shall see.
