Bayern were apparently told they'd have to pay €100m for Bailey so I doubt it's him.

Clutching at straws but maybe that could be one of those "If we're selling in the same league" scenarios, but he'd be cheaper to a non Bundesliga club ?

Doesn't apply to everyone though. Just as we twice as much from anyone of our rivals when they come sniffing, always happier to sell abroad for a lower fee.

Its not bailey for 3 reasons I can see

Bailey was all set to join Chelsea for 70 million?

Then Bayern showed an interest and they were told €100M

We would not pay either fee or get anywhere near paying it.

Why is everyone so quick to think a cryptic is a positive news regards to a signing?

Could be something else like

I shot the Sherrif but didn’t shoot his deputy (Poch is off but he won’t be taking kane with him)

Or with the links to Sarri yesterday maybe poch has got wind and is pissed off we were happy to line up a replacement that quick?.

Could also mean

Poch has pissed Lewis off but not levy?.

Or it could simply mean A&C loves reggae music and Bob Marley isn’t dead

The sheer variance of pessimism in here deserves some kind of yankspurs award.

Its Spurs history.

Bob Marley = One of Spurs most famous supporters...
Let's just hope this summer doesn't end in an Exodus. Then we might be looking at a difficult Survival. I just don't want to be Waitin' in vain for the answers to these riddles. But a few possible answers would Satisfy my soul, and we'd need some Positive vibrations around here.

I know he wouldn't set pulses racing like Bailey, Martial, Pulisic etc, but we were supposedly interested in Denis Zakaria a couple of seasons ago. He plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach, he's 1.91cm, a CM, and turns 22 in Nov.

Link to the cryptic is tenuous, but he does tick a few boxes hinted at by some of Herc's ITK. I can't remember verbatim, but didn't Herc say we had an under-the-radar back-up option, who'd cost less than 20m, in Germany if our first choice didn't eventuate?

He's also Swiss, and William Tell (Swiss folk hero) assassinated a vogt -- English translation is 'reeve'. And the term 'sheriff' is actually derived from 'shire reeve'. And as someone pointed out earlier, maybe Bob Marley > BM > Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Like I said... tenuous. But I do love the cryptic threads and was desperate to join in the fun.

However, there has been the notion thrown around that Leverkusen would far prefer to sell to a foreign club, so there could be some wiggle room down the way for clubs that aren't Bayern. Also, this price quote appears to be just an opening gambit of please go away, so really it wouldn't be entirely unfeasible for there to be 20-30m Euros shaved off that price.

Leverkusen and Bayern don't really compete though. And there's no way a club like Leverkusen would willingly drop €30m off an asking price.

Actually maybe it could point to Toby?

Didn’t he piss levy off?

Maybe levy doesn’t want to deal with him or his people but poch has had a change of heart?

I assume it's by A&C. It's just as likely to involve poo and someone's mum.

Jamaica has more to it than just reggae. It's too tenuous.

Bob (Mali) makes much more sense.
There's a very famous food originating from Jamaica, Jamaican jerk chicken.

So it's simple really, someone who's known to have been a jerk is signing another contract with the chicken badge team.

Good to see alderweireld and poch settling their differences...

I see you as someone who would stand behind a kid at a birthday party and blow out his candle while he closes his eyes & makes a wish.

The William Tell bit is, as you say, incredibly tenuous, but Zakaria at Borussia Mönchengladbach is an interesting link.

I wonder if we've made any overtures.

I think that despite it being made very clear that the cryptics are unrelated, you should carry on linking them.

I’ve actually flicked bogies at my butler that have more about them than some of you.

I was actually thinking about Toby
"Reflexes got the better of me
And what is to be must be
Every day the bucket goes to the well
But one day the bottom will drop out"
But the situation is already covered in clear daylight, no need to put a riddle on it.
