Sad the toby situation has come to this but he’s obviously done something behind the scenes so fuck him. Only thing is £100 mill don’t buy us much these days. And certainly can’t see where our big name signing for new stadium would be in that. Must be plus what we sell I.e 150 with the toby money

As has been mentioned by ITK spending 100-150 million and then the spend on replacements for the sold few can really push this squad on in my opinion.

Scary thing is, in this day and age, if your looking for players to improve our first team, 100 mil is not going to get you very far.

De Ligt (€55m), NDombele or Haidara (€30m), Andre Gomes (€30m), Kluivert or Pulisic/Martial would equal that amount (range from €25-€50) - we’ve been linked with all of these players through ITK, what would people think if this was our summer business? Personally, would be underwhelmed by CM incomings.

It has to be 100mil plus what we bring in from sales. Im happy with that. My only worry is if toby goes to utd and they pull off bale. I couldnt bare it...

hertyid, first bit is about toby: What I heard this weekend doesn’t sound good, not sure we will see him in a Spurs shirt again. Whatever happens though I’m sure Levy will extract maximum dollar.
On a more positive note it appears DL agreed with MP to put over £100m of investment into the first team this summer.

sometimes you just need to read info a little bit more closely and not skim it.

absolutely love this site, but the amount of people that skim threads then post on a topic on the negative side when the info could actually be positive is unbelievable.

I mean @Archibald&Crooks over the last couple of days has posted numerous times that the 2 cryptics are not: CONNECTED, WILL BE ANNOUNCED WHEN THEY CAN AND NOT BEFORE, yet people still waist their time asking the same questions. (now I know why my post count is so low over my near on 8years

Good news. 100mil investment plus potential sales of Toby, Dembele, GkN, Jansen, Llorente(?), Aurier(if we want to promote KWP) we're talking £170m+ total spend maybe - as Herc has alluded to.

That's 4 top class players, but with Toby and Dembele leaving there are holes that need filling.

Vertonghen has always been the no. 1 CB unquestionably for at least 3 seasons, and possibly longer than that. We are talking about selling a player who is 2nd best at the club for his position.
I accept Toby is leaving and Jan has been great but let’s not start rewriting history. For 2 seasons Toby was not just our best CB, he was our best defender and arguably one of the best players at the club full stop. I think we do ourselves a disservice when we start to trash players history when they depart. Sad that he is leaving and when he goes he becomes an opponent but that won’t stop me acknowledging his fabulous contribution while at our club.

Well 2 years is pushing it, as Toby got injured in November and played again late April if I'm not mistaken. In that time Verts has been delivering. And is continuing to deliver. It's called loyalty.

That's about 2 players, right?
Exactly my point, if it's net, then great. If it's just £100m spent, half of that is on replacing Toby, the other half is on replacing dembele. Don't really want to get into a debate on net spend, but if we want to challenge, we need to do more than just replacing 2 outgoing players.

The way it's worded sounds positive anyways, exciting times ahead ?

Depends where you look - Pool got Salah for £35m last year.

That £100m can definitely get a few quality first teamers.

Revisiting the cryptic about I shot the sheriff...apparently RB Salzburg (deputy) don’t want to sell Haidara to RB Leipzig (sheriff)

this goes to prove my point, since I posted my last message, the ITK message mentioned OVER £100 mil

I was referring to the 2 previous seasons.
