I think a lot of people forget how good Palacios is. He seemed to remind people when he was absolutely immense alongside Sandro against Milan. For me, these two are the obvious CM choices when up against the better sides. Modric and/or VDV can play in front of them, behind a striker.

Like BC I'm resigned to losing him, and like BC I fear it's so we can buy Scott "I'm less effective than Wilson at the job I was bought for" Parker.

agreed, I'd rather have Palacios I think...especially because Palacios would be kept in the right role, as Sandro's backup (or occasionally paired with him for tough games). I'm afraid Parker will expect to start.

I think caulks needs a season in the prem TBH he isn't ready for first team action and will develop more starting for them than sitting on the bench for us.

On another note where is today's daily thread? Do you think the combination of it being both a Friday and July 1st was just too much to cope. I imagine if no signing news is heard today you will hear heads explode!!

One slight issue: why do you go through all the long-hand of naming all of Citeh's strikers? Why not just say "an expensive flop like<generic Citeh striker>":shrug: :grin:

We do not have a wage ceiling!

How many times with this have to be explained before folk stop claiming that something that doesn't exist does exist:shrug:

We have a wage structure that allocates a set percentage of our incomoe to wages. We could, theoretically, pay 24 players £50 quid per week, and one £750,000 - if we so chose. If we had a wage ceiling this could not be said. The management chooses (please note that word), to not pay extremely high wages for a few players as, within our wage structure, this would mean paying a lower wage for the rest - and they clearly feel that it is better to have a squad with quality throughout by paying moderately high wages to all of our senior players, than to have one with some players bought for, and paid, amazing money, but an unbalanced squad in terms of quality.

It's the same thing whichever way you dress it up we arnt gonna suddenly pay etoo 240 grand a week we would never do that

Maybe. I think it's a mistake if so. I think one of the reasons we threw so many points away this season is because Palacios was omitted so often.

The season we finished fourth I think he was our second most important player, maybe even first over the course of the season.

I'm resigned to loosing Palacios now, but I'm gutted, I think he's been mismanaged and wasted, and now fucked off so Redknapp can bring in Scotty Parker and his little thunderbird legs. Hope I'm wrong.

Come on you must realise that palacios suffered a terrible drop in form and has onl had a fee good games all season
