Sorry, to clarify is the Berahino not first choice stuff in regard to him as a transfer target, or his position within the squad if signed?

I'm wondering the same thing. Ali Z seems to either be pulling peoples legs a bit tonight or just being very confused. It's almost like A&C's cabbage cryptics

Pereyra is an attacking midfielder/centre midfielder and not a winger as the ITK states. Ali is not even sure if it's Juve anymore and has mentioned an additional 2 names

But you're assuming all the ITK are pretty much hearing the same thing. That might not be the case. ITK doesn't necessarily all have to align just for our comfortable interpretation, does it?

Personally I think there was far too much momentum with the earlier iTK (particularly Paul Smith mentioning it as well), so I'd be more inclined to roll with that - just my opinion though.

Seems to change every day, priority one minute, only someone of interest the next. It's quite concerning as he's got everything we desire (English, young, pace, proven scorer in the premier league, can play anywhere across a front 3). Whereas as Werner and N'Jie are only prospects and although they've potential to be very good it doesn't help rectify our desperate need to find 1-2 players who will walk straight into the 1st team and contribute both assists and goals.

For those concerned with the lack of experience in the squad and the fact we're linked to youngsters, I think it'd be fantastic to sign young, pacey, hungry, versatile forwards (like Werner and Berahino) and a more experienced CM such as McCarthy (who is still relatively young but has a lot of experience)

I took it to mean not first choice as a transfer target. However, with no disrespect to Alli Z's info, the ITK's that have been saying he's very likely to sign have a far higher 'hit' rate in terms of accuracy.

Based on what has been said in recent days, I suspect Berahino is imminent. In fairness to Alli Z, that doesn't rule out the possibility that we're making one last attempt at an unlikely signing that is higher up the pecking order.

Sounds like any incomings may still be in the early stages.

I would think that if JJ doesn't want Gards to saying anything, it's because things may be far down the line, but we haven't heard anything, and if it get's out, things could be scuppered (like with Willian). If we haven't even engaged in talks, I'm not sure it would be imperative that nothing was said.

I was thinking the other way around. The fact it's "too early" would suggest it's in the first few stages and it's premature to get excited about anything and he doesn't want it to get out as a lot could still go wrong
