Yeah I get that, but again, how many times have we heard that before only for it not to materialise? Pinch of salt and all that.

Poch contributed to that too. Came out publicly demanding more, and signed his new deal after seeking assurances from Levy, despite knowing Madrid would come knocking.

Not to mention the huge jump in turnover over the last couple of years let alone the addition of the new stadium complete with high ticket prices.

Seems a pretty obvious window to go for it. Our top players won't hang around long if we look to tread water.

We're interested in lots of players aren't we? It doesn't sound like a bid is imminent, so he could well be a back up option.

Worst thing about this, all the crew will be out in force posting rubbish like ‘lessons have been learnt’ fishing for funny ratings and likes.

It’s bad news but like many before me have said, let’s wait and see what happens. Completely agree with the post saying we need to improve, not tread water also. That’s a sure fire way to going backwards in this league environment.

The likes of Grealish and Plea arent going to walk into the team so we will have the same (albeit really good) starting eleven as last year....
So when last years problems arise again such as form loss, injuries and complacency due to no competition or games not going our way then really all we have done is given poch an alternative bench pick to sissoko, llorente etc...
And whilst i despaired seeing sissoko or llorente coming on to save the day(and fail), i cant say that Plea and Grealish coming is the big upgrade i was hoping for albeit would be better than those 2

Chin up folks. There may be stuff we have no knowledge of going on in the background. Poch has signed up again and if he can am sure DL would back him where feasible . Look at Sanchez! What a great signing .

Kane has signed again and he is the best advert we coukd hope to have for the club. My spidy sense tells me there will be new ITK on the horizons!

I'm really curious as to what promises were made to Poch to make him sign his new contract. There was a lot of ITK about Levy having to step up or end up losing Poch. Well, he didnt lose Poch (at least this season) but it certainly doesn't appear anything has changed in transfer dealings with ITK becoming less and less optimistic. Did Levy promise things just to get Poch's signature and is now going back on those? I truly hope not but things dont sound great.

Thanks Herc. Hoping that the scope for a special signing may yet be more than one, but at this moment I'm as pessimistic as most Spurs fans about even one happening. When Poch made his barely veiled threat after the Leicester game about the need to decide if we were going to be brave, and then signed his contract extension, I hoped that was a positive sign. But the names we're being linked with don't seem to be in line with appeasing a manager who wants a club to be brave. I'm hoping that the club is working on deals that haven't reached the ears of the ITK guys. It happened with Son, so not impossible.

Ultimately I’ve been really happy with the direction the club is going in and the decisions we’ve been making, but there have been times when I’ve felt really underwhelmed and let down by the Club and Daniel.

I really hope we pull something out of the bag this window, as I’m beginning to worry it’s going to be one of those time again.

Waking up to all of this doom and gloom.
There are 5 WEEKS left and the World Cup is still on.
Last summer 43 million on a young defender was a massive gamble- we are still not throwing money all over the place at older players looking for a final paycheck.
Come August 10th and then I am REALLY POSITIVE about things this time around I hope we are in a great position to push on once again.

I hold out hope that much information about incomings and outgoings is being kept under tight wraps. I'm sure the ItK shares what they can, when they can, but even then, these things are never 100%. There may still be cause for optimism. Which is why i hope there is a lot we are not privy to at the moment. Because if the primary focus is someone like Martial, that would be slightly strange, given how clearly midfield has been an Achilles heel for some time. Fingers crossed n all that.

I don’t think the latest updates are all doom and gloom! Far from it...
The window for most top clubs won’t get going until the World Cup is over and big deals start to trigger other big deals.
In the meantime we have an indication that we are willing to splash the cash this summer if we are trying for a player like Marshall, who no doubt would cost a record fee and then some.

I’m really happy with the window so far - Reasons to be cheerful, Poch signed, Kane signed and an indication that we are ready to spend big.

We're so close to doing something special, it's beyond frustrating. If you want to become great, sometimes you have to take risks. It just seems we're happy to play it safe.

Hahaha! You guys, this is what happens when you start the transfer window thinking we will get bale.

Transfer window isn't over. Plea might seem a bit meh but if we sell llorente and janssen it might make sense. Him and son to cover wing and kane.

Gealish makes sense as young homegrown.

We might get a big name or two in towards the end of the window. Until then be miserable fuckers. Lol.

A little worrying to hear the latest. I would be extremely concerned if Poch thought Grealish and Plea were the sort of signings that would push us on to the next level, if we end up with those 2 and say Gomes I'd be shocked if Poch was still with us this time next year. Trying not to panic, but it's hard not to

well trix pointed out that we would wait until the end of the window which is no different to previous years, don't know if poch know that before he signed the contract

Only one reason Levy would be interested in Plea and that’s because he of the headline Plea Bargain.
