What did we do to stop the cross coming in, particularly Charlie and Lennon? How about Daw's positioning? And why did Kaboul get caught flat footed?

He wasn't caught flat footed. Both he and Dzeko were moving away from the ball, right next to each other. The cross was perfectly placed, and even then it was an incredible effort for Dzeko to score it. I'm still amazed he was able to get any pace on the shot. No clue on the positioning of the others - don't recall. I was just commenting on Kaboul's positioning.

Gloating is unbecoming...especially about something you should actually be really sad in being proven right about.

I was in the wait and see party.
We've waited, we've seen...I'm not happy.
I don't agree with your focus on penny-pinching, I don't think that is the problem.
I think the problem is that Levy clearly favours the DOF system. he has went with a conventional manager. But because he can't trust that manager with the money, we have not really had either. Levy has been acting like a surrogate DOF and he just isn't up to it.
He should go with a DOF, and if Redknapp won't work with him, get a manager who will. Or he should go with a conventional manager, and let him conduct the transfer business. If he doesn't trust Redknapp, replace him with one who he can trust.

I don't do knee-jerk, which is why I say wait-and-see, when some jump in too quickly. I have watched this unfolding since Redknapp took charge - and that is my considered opinion.

Not gloating mate....i am as gutted as everyone

Just that i have been Levy for years...he is what he is...he has his own perceive value for a player and would not be flexible e.g Stewart Downing Ashley Young

This Cahill fiasco is another example...so Bolton want a couple more millions(IMO can't be much more otherwise we wouldn't be negotiating in the first place) you have to bite the bullet and give in to them...it's the last hours of the window, that's the way the cookie crumbles, sometimes you win sometimes you don't....there is notime left but Danny, because his ego refused to allow him to be beaten in any negotiations proceed to kill offf 2 deals(Cahill & Bassong) to the IMO detriment of the football team as anyone would agree that Cahill who will come in as fiest choice, is a clear upgrade over the headless chicken Bassong

Tell you what, most of us is happy with Parker....but if WHam had stuck to their 7m valuation...danny would have killed that one too

That the way he is

Did you click on that link I provided, AUSpur? Kaboul didn't cover himself in glory but in the build-up to the goal, we did nothing to stop the cross coming in.

THANK YOU SC!

Well another transfer window comes and go's and its time I retire for the night but first of a massive thank you to SC for making this transfer window be immensly enjoyable despite the outcome, which I don't think is the end of the world.

Thanks to all the members for all chat, banter, opinions and oddball comments! Gio is an upgrade on Hulk according to Dan is a favourite of mine this window.

Thanks to all the ITKs who pass on information who make the transfer window particularly enjoyable. You can't be right all the time but info is passed on in good faith and I hope to see you all back for the summer. Akqayid you owe Kaka!

Lastly thanks to all the SC staff for an amazing Spurs website and forum. A&C round ups were awesome! Rob the server survived please give it a hug form me. Please keep up the good work guys.

COYS!

This, can't tell you how many hours I spent here, first thing I'd do almost every morning waking up was to check the latest ITK and this thread.

It all ends in frustration yet again but we can't stay away!

Very poor window I'd say. By getting Adebayor and keeping Modric we did just about the absolute minimum to avoid total disaster, but our season basically rests on Adebayor's health and form now. Getting rid of some of the deadweight is good but while £18M is good business for Crouch and Palacios they did make pretty decent backups. Friedel is a downgrade on Gomes in my opinon and though Parker's a big upgrade on Jenas, I'm not sure that Parker in replacing both Jenas and Palacios is that great. Really think we needed to sell another of Pav/Defoe and bring in another striker and sign some competition/backup for Bale and Lennon.

Vucinic would've been ideal and Ruiz would've been a fine 2nd choice and if we'd had one in the bag we probably could've shifted out Pav to Sunderland.

Let's hope Harry can hold it together (and stay out of jail) for a good final season and then we can rebuild next summer. Not sure I can take another relegation start and October firing.

So are you're honestly saying our cb's weren't at fault for a fair few of those goals?

I don't remember the circumstances around the first goal from United,I would need to see that again.
Other than Dawson not turning quick enough for Aguero............no I don't think I would blame them.

I am not slagging Daws..............Aguero is in the top 5 strikers in the world.

Friedel should have saved it though.

I think our defenders were good when the attacks were in front of them but couldn't handle the crosses against man utd and man city,

That's what Windy said, too. What do you mean he doesn't have a fucking clue?

I think you are wrong, the players at fault were not our CB's.

I think the fullback could of done better to stop the cross but how many headers did we win, according to chalkboards dawson and kaboul made two headed clearances and they conceded 5 goals from crosses in the last 2 matches

But on second look I agree it wasn't totally their fault because the other team were both camped around our box or they had too much space in midfield
