His previous with Nice, Arsenal and City suggests that he's liable to turn into a Grade-A dick after a season or two.

Didn't someone say Adebayor would be entering the final year of his Man City deal next summer and that we would be looking to use that as leverage in any potential deal?

I agree and looking at the squad now..........he has to give GDS a chance on the left or the new guy Falque (haven't seen the guy play) a chance on the right.

Team for me has to be;
----------Gomes----------
----Kaboul-----King------
Walker---------------Bale
-----Parker---Sandro----
--VDV-----Modric----Gio
----------Adebayor-----

I'd go with that. Replace Walker and swap Modric and VDV/GDS round.

Whilst I share your appreciation of Crouch's work-rate, the '1' in the 4-2-3-1 has to be a consistent goalscorer, which Crouchinho, with the best will in the world, is not. Therefore, we had all the players for a 4-2-3-1 barring arguably the most important.

Sure, it would be better with an uber striker but, I still think it would have been better than what we played most of the time, which was also very un-productive. Could also have tried playing Pav as the one at home occasionally.

I thought about that but Gio and Modric are not good on the right..........Gio could possibly play in the middle though with Modric on his left.
Give Walker a chance.

Yeah but the "option to buy" would've given us exactly that, not enforced a purchase - just seems a bad shout not to have that option based on the theory that he'll have a great season even if considered to be due to the fact his contract will be up.

Anyway I'm sure we'll be signing Rossi or another class striker this time next summer so won't matter...

It's not the defenders that is the problem, it's the set up of the team in front of them. You could put Cahill into the sides that lost against Man Utd/City and the results would be the same because there was no protection whatsoever from the midfield, particularly in the City game.

Fed up of people blaming solely our defence for that shit.

It's both. I've been banging on about defending and pressing and work rate for ever, but at the moment we are also weak defensively individually too. Dawson, Walker, Corluka and even Ekotto all worry me defensively at times for different reasons.

I agree about protection and defending as a team we are awful at times, but this won't change until we change our coach.

Probably the wrong place for it but I suppose the modding won't be too strict at the moment, some credit should be given to David Bentley for dropping down a division in order to get back on track (hopefully). Give the reputation he has amongst many on here you would be forgiven for expecting his ego to stop him from making such a move.

Hope it goes well for him and he can either get a permanent deal there or a transfer somewhere decent. Also taking what must have been a less than desirable move for him has done the club a big favour as we don't have to pay his full wage between now and Jan or waste a squad place on him.

Another ITK transfer window over. Every time it ends I lol at myself when thinking about all the ITK that was brandished. We really do love to engage in the fantasy of it all.

Bit annoyed about Cahill because PaddyPower had a market on him and I lost money on it.

Thanks to all the genuine ITKs who gave info in good faith. Although thought wpd659 to be a total fantasist with his hourly ITK from his source when people gave him some credence, and it annoyed me reading him.

With a disaffected Modric I don't think we are a good bet for top 4. So that makes it a very bad transfer window. Think we have slipped further behind, because harry 100% needs better players to get better results. He's not going to out fox them tactically :)

Well said.

Thanks to all for making this forum the only place to be for good honest high quality debate with other true Spurs fans.

Anyway, onwards & upwards. COYS!!!

Agreed, I won't be shedding any tears the day Harry goes. I appreciate what he has done for us and that we could have it worse in terms of our Manager, but I also see that we could have it much better.

I agree with this. They were afforded next to no protection and were dragged all over the place.

Whilst that's true, it doesn't change the fact that Dawson and Kaboul both could've done much better for most of the goals conceeded against both teams.

Welbeck - Had a free header in between the 2
Anderson - Probably midfield and defences fault there, lack of tracking runs
Rooney - Another free header wasn't it. Think Daws was meant to be marking

Dzeko 1st - Kaboul not tight enough at all
Dzeko 2nd - Kaboul again showed complete lack of effort
Dzeko 3rd - No individual errors and I'd say light midfield made it too easy for them
Aguero - Dawson should've got the ball easily
Dzeko 4th - Pure quality not our fault there.

So has the Journo explained why the lack of Farfan and Hunts or not?

Very odd that situation, as clearly he believed in the info and IMO not a WUM but it would appear where there's no smoke the definitely aint no fire...

THANK YOU SC!

Well another transfer window comes and go's and its time I retire for the night but first of a massive thank you to SC for making this transfer window be immensly enjoyable despite the outcome, which I don't think is the end of the world.

Thanks to all the members for all chat, banter, opinions and oddball comments! Gio is an upgrade on Hulk according to Dan is a favourite of mine this window.

Thanks to all the ITKs who pass on information who make the transfer window particularly enjoyable. You can't be right all the time but info is passed on in good faith and I hope to see you all back for the summer. Akqayid you owe Kaka!
