I may be wrong, but I believe someone mentioned the fact he does not wish to be played at CB any more, and this is the reason he wanted out of Montpelier.

Only meant fill in if we have 3 injuries to CB. He'd play DM rest of time. If he's not willing to help out at CB in emergency then sell him now lol

To be fair to Townsend, He struggles when teams sit deep.

Townsend struggles with the concept of engaging his brain before kicking the ball.

Only small thing giving me a glimmer of hope over Schneiderlin is Stombouli's versatility. As he can play CM, CB and both full back roles he would be an ideal first sub, and not necessarily a constant starter, whereas MS would be #1 choice. Combine that with us seemingly doing a u-turn on Townsend and it just might happen. Especially if we shift Holtby and Sandro too

Sadly Levy has underwhelmed on recent deadline days and I'm prepared to see the same happen again.

For that to happen I think it would mean either Dembele, Capoue or Bentaleb leaving assuming Stambouli signs. As versatile or not he wants to play DM and MS coming in would mean we have 5 even after Sandro went which is too many.

I think we'd have to sell those two (Holtby and Sandro), and another in order to make that feasible. Is simply too many to keep happy as is.

As for me personally, with Stambouli coming in, I'd rather see that money spent on an attacker or two.
