Capello is damaged goods now, dont think he has a shot in England the players won;t take him seriously - much like McClaren.

Would love Ancelotti and am sure he would happily walk away from PSG for a job in London. The guy is a winner and gets his teams playing some really good stuff. Plus a massive name in European football could attract top players.

Have said for a while if the links with Txiki Bergistrain (sorry on spelling) are to be believed then Rijkaard could be coming with him, that would be massive.

Also agree that I DO NOT want Martinez, I mean he got Wigan to play for like 7 games this season and just kept them up .... I don't think that good criteria if we don't want to continue with Harry

Because Rijkaard's been such a huge success at Sparta, Galatasaray and in Saudi?

Do you know how much Ancelotti's being paid at PSG? I don't, but I'm pretty sure it's a fuck of a lot more than we can shell out.

I think it would be Martinez if Harry left.

I wouldn't be against that. I would think he needs a bit of help with identifying the right level of player though.

I know that Levy stated that he was putting the DOF system into abeyance in order to hire Redknapp - so, you would have to suppose that if he is sacking him, there is a good chance he will go back to the DOF system. I'm a bit unsure exactly waht happened between Martinez and Liverpool. I know it was suggested that he refused to work with a DOF, but, then, didn't someone say they were going to appoint three directors (or something) to work over Rodgers in some way?
Just wandering, if it was Martinez (and I don't believe it will be) would he be working as a traditional manager or not?

If Levy does think Redknapp's time is up, I'm putting money on Pep to take over. Is there a 'retardly optimistic' trophy?
If any post deserved such a trophy it'd be this one. That's quite optimistic lol

Maybe the "Leaving drinks" is a euphemism for the foxes in Harry's garden who are going to get hunted and shot by the Redknapp family and assorted family and friends...?

You could argue it.
But sometimes you have to believe the evidence of your eyes as well as believing what the stats are saying.
The evidence of my eyes told me that we only played players other than the core of the team when players who formed the core of the team were injured, more or less - and that is not a rotation policy.

And you watched enough of the other five clubs to be able to differentiate their 'policy' from ours?

Hahahahahaha you tried to be the bigger man but then couldn't resist could you? That was genuine funny. If I wasnt on the iPhone I'd show you loads of posts where you've gIven people neg ratings for mentioning Dos Shitos, how do you think I even know what you're about?

Anyway, moving on, I still rind this hard to fathom if it is going to happen, and struggle to see why we've waited this long and lost out on potentially one of Levy's candidates. Seems a bit weird for Levy to save a few quid if he wanted to get Rodgers in. I'm not sad that we haven't though.

Don't get the Ancelotti loving either, made a right balls up of the season in France considering they had unlimited funds.

Not sure on AVB, someone made a good point in another thread about how he seems intelligent because of the way he speaks but he doesn't actually say anything of any note, and pretty sure his gravel voice would do me in after a while.

Looks like it's back to Moyes or someone from outside the league again then.

ok, usually i wouldnt be bothered to prove the point but because you seem like such an arrogant arse im gonna go for it:

in my so far brief time on this site i have given a total of 4 negative ratings, all of which were 'disagrees'. they were -

Balotelli is potentially world class and can do many brilliant things which cancels out or at least gives him breathing space to work...

Disagree in the thread Kalou and Bosingwa anyone?.

Instead of wasting 22m on Remy, we should sign Kalou on a free. Very similar players

Erm.....no. Pienaar and Kranjcar aren't shite players. Dos Santos is. Every time he plays for Mexico he 'runs the game'...
Monday at 8:27 PM

(Note that last one was only because you started giving it calling me a spurs viola or whatever the hell that is because i said dos santos had potential)

So yeah, once your back at your laptop feel free to find all those 'loads of posts where you've given people neg ratings for mentioning dos shitos."

bear in mind you'd be wasting your time though as i guarantee you wont. Nice try at being an utterly pathetic excuse for a man though, good to see you have more important things in life than larging it over the internet.

back to spurs - whats the likelihood of vertonghen finally signing tomorrow?

Pre Chelsea AVB yep, post Chelsea nope. The same sort of doubts I have with Capello in that the English related fuck up means he'll be fighting negativity from the start, especially in the media. And we shouldn't forget he really did make a pig's ear of things at Chelsea. They were awful. I'm sure he'll prove himself again elsewhere, but I wouldn't be too keen to see him here at the moment.

It'll never happen in a trillion years but Levy should offer pep a thousand pounds a second and give him a 10 year contract so he can work his magic from the youth onwards over a long period of time. Yeah.

Funnily enough, Bomber...I feel exactly the opposite.
I said, last Summer, that Chelsea was too big (solely because of demand for instant success, they are still corrugated-shed dwelling twats, IMHO), AVB had no experience in the EPL, and, frankly, he was younger that some of their veterans, who, we know, held way too much sway in the dressing room. It wasn;t hard to envisage him them losing a game or two, and all of a sudden them thinking "who is this kid?".
Now, we are probably a better fit for him - ambitious, but with no demand for the top honours instantly; he has had a year's experience in the EPL; and, simply, he is a year older, and he won't have to deal with player's of the age of Drogba, et al, used to success at the highest level, and, let's faceit, arrogant tosspots. On top of that, not sure how popular such beliefs are nowadys, but I really do believe the old sheeeee-ite about adversity being character building.
He wouldn't have been my number one choice, but I wouldn;t be spurting my coco all over the screen if he were annonced, either.

Wasn't Deschamps linked as a Levy favorite?

Was just about to make the same post.
Yeah...someone said he was very highly rated and interested in the job - or words to that affect, I believe.

And you watched enough of the other five clubs to be able to differentiate their 'policy' from ours?

1) I made no comment on the other clubs.

2) Watching our team and reaching that conclusion is not in anyway dependent on the policies of the other clubs. I don't even know why you would imply, by posing the question, that it did.

3) Actually, yeah, I watched quite a lot of them (once I discovered the secret of streaming ;)).

Enough of you know about the NFL to usually hate the Patriots and Belichick. But he turned a shitty franchise into a powerhouse in a league that does everything it can to prevent dynastic teams from existing by implementing a system (and a bit of the friendly cheating ;) )

One of the main tenants of his philosophy is to ship anybody with the idea that they actually matter to anywhere. Nobody matters.....not even Brady. The system is the star of the Patriots. Oh and every one of those players knows they can win every game they play. And the reason they lose? Is because the Giants now believe it more. But regardless of teams catching up, the Patriots will always be a top club with Belicihck in charge. Because they system and ethos matter. At the level of professional sport, the differences in ability is miniscule and anybody holding onto some idea that personnel makes a big difference is living in a distant past.

By the way, Belichick is the kind of guy that would sale Modric to Arsenal and tell us to fuck ourselves when we whined about it (and I would whine). He'd then go out and shut us up by winning.

So while too many English clubs toil under the idea of personnel, Borussia Dortmund just got rid of their best player to a bigger club and won a double. The system matters. Lyon won 7 straight titles as a provincial club until they forgot about the system, but after watching Lille and Montpellier, who have system win titles, they are returning to their roots. Udinese continues to sell and compete in Italy because the system matters. And Barcelona became the preeminent club in the world over a 35 year period by incrementally putting more and more faith in a system.

Imagine how far we could go with a system considering we are one of the 15 richest clubs in the world. It's actually both inspiring and depressing.

Absolutely fantastic post, exactly how I feel as well.

Unfortunately we don't have a winner like Belichick, Ferguson, Mourinho, or Klopp in charge, we got 'Arry - and I don't believe 'Arry has a winning attitude.

And some kind of moving tether, attached to a rail along the left touchline, to pull him back whenever he tried to wander to far (y)
Just have a word with the sniper who keeps gunning him down every time someone tries to tackle him. Ping a few around his feet, whenever he steps away from the left, and he'll soon get the message.

Funny...I had a picture of a B&W Laurel and Hardy type character whacking him in the face with an outsize frying pan, with an early radio 'gong' sound effect, every time he began to look wistfully at other sections of the pitch :)

He wouldn't replicate it on all probability because we don't have several of the worlds best players, and he has set a high bar with two CLs and three Liga titles. However, he would improve us. Before him Barca were a collection of some wonderful individuals. He brought them the organisation, work ethic and teamwork which has allowed them to play the precise, beautiful football they've played under him. So while I don't want Redknapp out, I do believe that we'd be trading up for guardiola. Anyway, it'd never happen.

But, one has to say, it's rare that a manager/coach has been so completely immersed in the philosophy and tradition of a great club. We don't, as you say, have several of the world's best players; maybe more importantly, we don't have a culture of excellence going back at least to Cruyff's time, the culture in which Pep grew up.

An invisible dog fence and shock collar would also work
