If we discount the possibility that the club have not already decided the fate of Ade, i truly believe that Poch will make his mind up having had his first conversation with Ade, if he has not already.

I think the respect aspect is too ingrained into his football being to compromise who he is, for any player. People who are wired like that don't change. It's a basic tenant of their mentality.

It would not be pragmatic to his methodology of team work to place individuals on pedestals. It fundamentally breaks the team cohesion that is needed to get everyone fighting for each other and leaving everything on the pitch.

Though Ade may play ball and we get the best of both worlds.

Whatever Poch thinks ?If Poch cannot find and buy a suitable alternative striker, then Poch's decision is either NOT having enough goalscoring by selling Adebayor or finding how to pmanage Adebayor. And not enough goalscoring = trouble (as AVB found)

its nothing to do with what Poch thinks - its what he does.

So you're saying AVB and Poch would get identical returns from the players? So there's no allowance being made for players performing better under another manager's coaching with a change in playing style?

I just love inflexibility.

Similar situation occured at Espanyol with Tamudo. Poch's words on the subject:

"I had been evaluating it all week, but I'm quite sad and annoyed," he told AS.

"Both I and the coaching staff have been trying to resolve the situation for the benefit of the club, the team, the institution, but he has been uninterested in front of us. The decision is that he has not been called up.

"I held my end of the agreement, but we have not seen positive signs from the other side. I would have liked it to have been otherwise, but we must confront the situation.

"The interests [of the club] are above any player."

Despite the problems, Pochettino is excited about what the future holds for Espanyol.

"The project is exciting and we are laying down the foundations for the future," he concluded.

Tamudo was gone at the end of the season. Shows flexability in giving the player the chance, which Tamudo ultimately didn't take.

Your actions, what he does, are based on what he thinks.

Poch doesn't find the players. He is not a manager, he is a head coach. If he doesn't think he can work with the player and they are not constructive to the team, they leave.

Not having Ade in the team does not equate to us stopping scoring. The massive change around in goals fortune can just as easily be attributed to playing 442 from our origional defensive 451. As Poch gets his team playing variations of 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3, our attacking threat has exponentially increased from the system AVB played with a new striker in the league playing up front on his own.

Whayt I'm saying is that its unknown whether Poch can get Soldado backto scoring freely as he did in Spain - and Poch needs a CF to hold up play which Soldado cannot do, Kane can but he's not experienced enough to do as a starter this season.

Adebayor is the hold up player that Spurs needs in Poch's 4231 system - and if not we need to buy.

So as I say, if Poch's options are to buy a striker who can hold up play ....or decide to manage Adebayor

The point I'm trying to get across is that thinking does NOT equal doing. If Spurs cannot find a striker to fit Poch requirementrs, Adebayor will stay.

Spurs do not have enough strikers for any other outcome

I may be alone in this but I have a feeling Kane will be our number 1 striker by Xmas.

I don't know whether this will be because he has come on leaps and bounds or because of failures elsewhere (either transfers or Ade/Soldado not working).

Pray for the former, fear for the latter.

It would give me immense pride if he did take his chance and banged in lots of goals next season.

I'm sure there will be similar conversations (with all the players) to see how they fit Poch's system - it happens with all new managers

Just hope that Poch does not make the same mistake when he got rid of Tamulo and buy Osvaldo (at boith Espanyol and Southampton) , who I'd suggest is as big or more problem than Adebayor !

Poch's demonstrated that he will drop people regardless of who they are if they don't meet his expectations of effort. That is evidence that he will do what he thinks. I don't think that it will be any different in this situation.

If the situation has not already been decided by the club on Ade's future, i believe Poch will clearly express what he expects of Ade and the consequences if he does not agree to it.

I'm hoping that Ade does.

haha, luckily it appears that he has moved to a club that have taken a great deal of the transfer malarky away from the manager.

Didn't osvaldo punch/slap lamela at Roma.

I buy all that. But Poch had bpougt Osvaldo in as replacement at Espanyol (ie pragmatism)

He needs to havve someone (but not Osvaldo please) bought as otherwise we do not have the goalscorers

Think he may have - but did the same at Southampton too (hence his exit from there)

I would have thought it was obvious at the start of the TW that we had to sell before we could buy, our squad is busting at the seems and we got players out on loan every where, we gotta make room some how.

Therein lies the problem.

Imagine wanting to buy a player from Levy with the valuations and add ons that he would want. So many times we have been unable to move players on because we wanted too much money for them. Look at Gomes, now he is a free man we got noting for him yet other clubs have been after him in the last few seasons.

The bold is my emphasis. Chelsea had 28 players on loan last year, ones that they bought pre FFP came in. Provided we can pay their wages, either by ourselves or loaning them out, it is not a problem, and if we can improve them so that we can sell them on at a profit then the club wins.

I will say no more on that one, OT! Sorry A&C.

I disagree with this assessment. In Southampton, there was no central striker who was holding the ball up. Lambert has the ability to hold the ball, but he was rather used all over the front line. I think the key word is linkup play not holding.

Both Lambert & Rodriguez showed good link up play, especially with Lallana. All the 3 players were always trying to run between defenses. This is why I believe Rodgers also bought Lambert - his ability to link up.

Given this, Soldado "could" be more suitable in Poch style - he has always been prolific when he plays with a midfield who can be intelligent & pick a through ball. I guess with the lackadaisical midfield build up we had last season, he never had such opportunities.

Having said that, I still believe Ade could still be no1 given his work rate & the ability to linkup & hold the ball.

If Ade can play to his potential (which he did end of last season), he is the best striker available in market given our budget IMO.

I was looking at some of the players that have left Fulham, would anyone consider Hangeland as a CB backup for a season or 2? We need an experienced leader at the back. Selling Dawson and bringing in Hangeland on a free could be an option for a season or two and add some experience at the back.

Less mobile than Dawson, wouldn't work well under Poch.

Pretty sure it has been reported that Baldini and Osvaldo don't like each other and unless the price was staggeringly good i can't see Levy jumping at the chance to bring in another problem child striker who is coming off a disappointing season.

I've seen us linked to 2 Belgian lads, bith of whom I might like. But its up to Poch to bring in one or possibly both (if that is hios plan) before selling Adebayor.

If he cannot find and buy a decent strikinmg alternative, his alternative is to manage Adebayor like HR and TS have done.

IMO its down to Poch to look at both alternatives..
I've seen us linked to Batshuayi, but who is the other Belgian lad you speak of?
